I'm So High
by @oddbod
Liner Notes
Spent far too much time fiddling around with the production and rewriting lyrics but at least I had some fun with this one. Money and power are drugs so they say, but how would I know?
Lyrics
I don’t want to come down I know what’s on the ground It doesn’t fill my desire I need to keep going higher
I’m rising, I’m rising now
When you’re on the way up There’s no such thing as enough I need more than I’ve got All the way to the top
I’m climbing, I’m climbing now I’m so high…..
From up here you see it all It makes everything look so small I want to elevate my mind And leave the world far behind
I'm rising, still rising
I’m so high…..

Driving lead guitar line and bass make this a real toe tapper. Love your energized vocals, especially those harmonies in the prechorus. Killer solo. Great pump up song.
This rocks in such a satisfying way. Love it. Couldn't sit still to this if I wanted to. Fantastic song!
That intro/between-verses guitar riff is fab. And that huge whomp after the lull - fantastic stuff. I do love a full kitchen-sink oddbod production. Tremendous stuff.
Psychedelic rock..love it Great solo. It was like a fkashback!
Great song! The performance and production are incredibly well done, and it's radio-ready. I really enjoyed it.
These certainly don't look like lyrics that one has agonised over, but I suppose that was entirely the aim. A lesson to me (and, indeed everyone) in the power of keeping things simple. When paired with the music, they are strong, universal and tremendously fluid.
Music-wise, no notes. I love both the overall feel of this one and the many details and embellishments. You've set the bar so high.
High flyin' awesomeness!
This is ace! Great progression and memorable melody. A really slick production job too. Those opening few chords are reminding me of something else which is on the tip of my tongue but I just can't recall it... yet. It'll come to me! That guitar solo is great too!
those are cool holding drums they are class. the synth and vox sit nicely over them and those guitar flashes are icing. good song
Great job, I love the organ part and the sound in general.
This is so fantastic! Has a nostalgic vibe yet also feels fresh. Production is awesome! Rippin’ guitar solo!
Great groove, great tones, fully formed and splendidly delivered.
i love this organ-driven psychedelic garage rock. its like ?and the mysterians with a better singer, the rave up before the final chorus took me higher and higher, (although i am powerless and drug free.)
Great catchy jangly guitar riffs, top notch vocal melody and performance . The production and arrangement is fantastic also. Great tune. Well worth the effort
Oh well now isn’t that a gem! Just a flat out, buttoned up, radiant pop song. Yup. Great.
It IS your magnum opus! By which I mean it’s bloody brilliant. Worth the time, worth the wait for the rest of us. Love the whooosh intro, and then that warm bath of different jangly, chorusey guitar tones. The hyperactive bass line is so damn classy, might be my favourite thing in the track actually. You’ve got such wonderful dynamic contrast, particularly that drop before the solo kicks in (and what a frickin’ solo btw). I was getting La Femme vibes, or at least something vaguely French indie pop. Yeah, this is the good stuff right here, absolutely one of my favourites for the month. Top work!
Holy cow. You have created yet another masterpiece! Amazing stuff here.
Easily a top 5 song for me this FAWM. Fully formed at the demo stage - fantastic.
So i log in and get this treat? Works for me! Love the guitar work!
What a great vibe! Multiple catchy instrumental motifs, melody and great lyrics that pulled me in from the start! Well done!
The dynamic shift in the into at 0:18 is SO GOOD. The guitar jangle tickles my ear like early REM and I love me some early REM. But then your vocal melody and lyric feel like nods to so many things -- I think your genre tags are spot on. Oh shit, the little pause before the solo at the 3 minute mark is just right. This one rocks in a way that's energizing without being too much, driving without racing, only as loud as I turn up my dial.
