Chasing the moon

Liner Notes

This is for the #morph challenge, #morph4 . I got this beautiful demo from @wacha (https://write.fawm.org/songs/309024) and it inspired me a lot. I tried my best to keep it simple and not change too much, because that's what I like about the song - the simplicity. What I did do is transpose the song from major into minor - because I can't deal with major lol.

Lyrics

Chasing The Moon Bpm: 65 Verse: Em C Am B Chorus: C Am F#dim G

Verse: At the feet of night We are gold The starbeams glance As we dance Somehow it never Feels old Held in a trance As we dance

Chorus: Chasing the moon Without a care Chasing the moon Some would never dare Chasing the moon Since time began Chasing the moon Making no demands

Verse 2 Smiling mysteriously No one knows What we can see White, cold in the Damp of night Radiant beams Shine the light

Chorus: Chasing the moon Without a care Chasing the moon Some would never dare Chasing the moon Since time began Chasing the moon Making no demands

I like the minor twist you put into the morph here - It gives the feeling of night time and an eerie quality - very nice. :-)

Its interesting that I still hear @wacha typical sounds. Guess the has that particular vocal phrasing. Good idea to go for a simple arrangement. Great atmosphere

@chrismyth02 So fun to check out how these morph challenge really do change so much from the “seed” isn’t it?! Humans are a wonderfully creative bunch! I like humans!

Working backwards from @markfulwider ’s excellent rock tune, I’m so delighted by this enchanting evocative tune that inspired it. My gosh your sweet ambient vocal is a dream to listen to. The guitar sparkles. The synth brightens up the background. I feel the moonbeams on this one.

Haha, can't deal with the major...the flip to minor makes those verses quite wistful. This is lovely!

@frostin

I used to feel like that about major chords. But learned to love them as well, haha. My trick was to use as many major 6ths or major 7ths as possible, so that they are not so much "in your face" major chords. (it that makes any sense). The groove was nice and the dissonances in the melody were great.

Went back and listened to all the other versions and realized you really did make some nice and cool changes! So crazy how different this song has become from the seed idea, huh? This was actually a fun challenge! Posted mine up a bit ago! Many Blessings!

@ayais

Only humans would think of chasing the moon. All the other living critters take it in stride. It's that trance thing. This is trance-y for sure, so beautiful, like a full moon!

Nice job on this! You have a lovely voice! I haven’t listened to any of the previous versions so I have no idea how this started out, but this version is cool! I will see what I can do to destroy all your hard work! Hahaha! Hopefully, I can come up with something! We’ll see what happens! Blessings!

A slow and enchanting tempo. The melody is pretty and sits well in the airy backing track. The catchy chorus is the 'star' of this song. Well done.
