I Can Relate

Lyrics
You say "Where's the Humanity"? I say, I can relate. You say "We're close to Insanity." I say, I can relate. You say, "(Insert Profanity)" I say, I can relate. I can relate!
I relate to every outraged word, Every Protest song I've ever heard, And when you say we must Stand Up, I'm there! I will stand by anyone who says They will stand up for the ones who dread All the edicts from the US King, I care!
When you say you Won't Keep Quiet I say, I can relate. When you say we can't deny it, I say I can relate. When you say we need a Riot, I say I can relate - but No, I don't go there.
But, I relate to every outraged word, Every Protest song I've ever heard, And when you say, "We must Stand Up, Prepare"! I will stand by anyone who says They will stand up for the ones who dread All the edicts from the US King, I'm There!
Bridge: You say they've bought the Supreme Court, You say the time is getting short, You say this is not what I endorse, Of course! You say they're loading up the planes, And they'll do it till no one remains, All our thoughts and bodies put in chains, Who gains?
So, Relate to every outraged word, Every Protest song you've ever heard, And when you say, "We must Stand Up, Prepare"! We'll stand by anyone who says They will stand up for the ones who dread All the edicts from the US King, Be There! Relate!

A scary and sad truth. The US king...yeesh! Give us a break already. I think these lyrics are powerful because relating to other humans may be our greatest (and possibly only) remaining weapon at this point in time. Thank you for your solidarity.
So powerful! Sadly we are living in a time where hate reigns and our ability to understand and empathise are exactly the things they can't stand.
I can relate to this song!
Strong lyrics, to the point and great build up
The quiet strength of solidarity. Very nice writing!
Protest song are often about wrath and outrage. I love that you concurr with thioe and make it a question of compassion. Something is going very wrong if it becomes that subversive to say "I care" and "I can relate" #tit4tat
