Might as Well Replace

Liner Notes

I feel like I lose my stuff more than anyone I know. This one is from the perspective of the little guy in my phone who makes it sprout legs and run away when I'm not looking.

Lyrics

Did you look in all of the places you'd expect me Well here's what happens when you forget where you put me

I'll hide within the walls The engine of your car I'll be half way up to mars When you decide to call I'm flying off the bed I don't think you're ever gonna Find my hiding place You might as well replace me

You put me down so you could focus on something Well I don't think theres anything else that deserves your attention

So I hid within the walls The engine of your car I'll be half way up to mars When you decide to call I'm flying off the bed I don't think you're ever gonna Find my hiding place You might as well replace me

You might as well replace me

I made sure you specifically have this problem Everyone else finds their things exactly where they left them But not you

Because I hid within the walls The engine of your car I'll be half way up to mars When you decide to call I'm flying off the bed I don't think you're ever gonna Find my hiding place You might as well replace me

Funny perspective for a song. I like the guitar playing, particularly the little embellishment (hammer on, off?) in the transition between the D and Bm (maybe?). Anyhow, it sounds cool. Nice vocal delivery too...

A relatable premise for a song. I think it's hilarious the phone is jealous of the person's attention to something else. My favorite couplet: "I made sure you specifically have this problem / Everyone else finds their things exactly where they left them".
