The Lock-Inn
Liner Notes
@hanley - Last FAWM Tanya sent me a trad irish fiddle tune she came up with, and asked me to learn it on the mandolin (which I'd only just acquired!). Had a blast filling out the track, and since then we've worked on writing/recording about 4 or 5 original trad Irish tunes which has been great fun! We're yet to have a jam, but it will happen soon won't it @tan482?!
So here's another fun one she sent me to add mandolin and of course I couldn't resist adding everything else!

Sounds like someone smashing a bottle in the intro, so I spent the song imagining the patrons of the inn having a cheerful punch-up. Great tune with some lovely unexpected turns to it. Really enjoying this Irish journey you two are on.
Such a fun and uplifting tune. This moves along so nicely. It feels timeless to me. Just a killer collab…A++
This cultural appropriation is getting out of hand! Ok really though, this is excellent. It's transporting me into the back of an Irish pub where, later that evening, I have to admit to all, that actually that really was a 'class night'.
Wow you two !! Is this two Aussies together getting fantastically folky and inventive in all the best ways . I have moved closer to so much Irish Celtic music this year and this is right up my street . Extreme talent on display here and thank u for making me smile today 🤩🤩
This is such a beautiful tune and I love the crooked B section! You guys sound great together.
I enjoyed the tune and the atmosphere added as well. You could have gone round again and I would still have been tapping my toe.
Lovely interplay between the instruments - as Irish as a pint of the black stuff!
Love the sounds of the craic in the intro. A rollicking good tune for a rollicking good time 😎
This one sounds so joyous. It lends itself so well to a called dance....I feel so much movement when I hear it! Nice one , guys!
This is inspiring me to write more dance tunes and play them on the hammered dulcimer her next FAWM. So well done here, and it does sound like an old Southern tune.
