#PostcardChallenge

@jem was so kind to send me a very nice postcard - with a message ‚You stand out from the crowd!‘ - which took a few weeks and the help of friends to make it‘s way from the US to DE - but here we are, i expect to receive the card today, two days before the end of FAWM!

At the moment there are lyrics and an a capella demo only, but i hope to finish a Demo before FAWM ends.

[this a capella demo will hopefully receive some instrumentation from other FAWMers and then be replaced by the updated mix]

Lyrics

[vers] There is constant movement all around busy not hectic, rather a wave than a storm the crowd is flowing from the stairs to the ground like a cloud a little hazy without defined form

[vers] pulses are running through this wave some to the left some to the right a grey mass of heads with hats dark clothes and probably no face

[chorus] you stand out from the crowd not the color of your dress not invisible (and silent) not loud un-compromised just grace

[vers] And right were a split point is i see a red dress, a face, simply bliss all the grey in my view could not cancel you out and everyone is carefully moving about

[vers] and the waves continue to flow i stand still just to watch you and despite time ticking away no time is lost not all is grey

[chorus] you stand out from the crowd not the color of your dress not invisible (and silent) not loud un-compromised just grace

[vers] over time the movement fades to the back and in the constant flow all that is left is your quiet and powerful act to stand out from the crowd

[chorus] you stand out from the crowd not the color of your dress not invisible (and silent) not loud un-compromised just grace

What a beautiful postcard, and what a beautiful take on the challenge! I was not expecting an acapella song, but I agree with @jimdgreen — this is perfect as is, it's powerful and mesmerizing.

Wow - this is such an amazing story that has emerged from that painting. Your timing and delivery is so meditative and engaging. i particularly like the line: "all the grey in my view could not cancel you out"., but really, the entire narrative is wonderful. Thank you so much for taking such time and care with this challenge and the imagery provided. I'm almost done with yours! stay tuned.

not sure this needs instrumentation - it has a cool quality as it is, almost Munks doing chanting.

I dig this.
