PRJ038 child tornado

Liner Notes

Really all I did with this one this week was decide this was a song and "transcribe" the lyrics. It's found poetry, really. I've been using the subconscious lyric-writing method of recording an improvised vocal of nonsense syllables and then playing it back and trying to decipher coherent words from those sounds. Sometimes it works better than others... I just left the original vocal alone here, didn't bother recording a vocal where I actually said any of these words. Forgive the braying and likely plagiarizing.

Lyrics

PROJ 38 CHILD TORNADO guys got a lot of old radios just kinda likes them around jokes he’ll never let them break down joe’s kinda lost without radios don’t you wanna know why don’t you kinda know why

“I was a child tornado, then a downtown robot, you know it was a lonesome town....”

don’t you turn around, turn it on….

joe forgot to tell me your name o don’t you try to tell me you know what’s going on don’t you try to know your own bounds don't you got a name for your radio

don’t you try to lie turn it on (sound) oh the radio turn it on on and on you were right turn on the radio turn it on

I don’t think your name at all sounds bowtie so patch to the middle of your eye(?) Hey-hey-yah You know you’re making yourself proud

Don’t you try to lie turn it on sit down where there are stars and miles and miles and miles and miles til town #rock #newwave #postpunk #improvisation

Giving me Can vibes. Like this is just barely balanced on the edge of control. Love the energy, love your voice, excellent grooves. This is really fun.

That’s a really interesting way to go about lyrics! One of my biggest challenges has been fitting the already-created lyrics into something that makes rhythmic sense. Leads to lots of revisions, trying to shoehorn meaning into a syllable count. Enjoyed the listen as well!
