First Light

Liner Notes
We sort of started a trilogy with “One Last Midnight”, and then “Hang”, about our Sea Witch. So we had to finish it and go out with a bang.
Rosie: Vocals/Lyrics/Rap Sapient: Guitars Andy/DJKA: EDM stuff, arrangement, production
Andy/DJKA: These two have literally kept bringing out the best in me it seems. I had an absolute blast putting this together. For me this is the final song of my FAWM. But what an amazing ride it's been this year.
Rosie: We really wanted to squeeze in a last collab before the end of FAWM, and I feel like this is the most unhinged I’ve ever been putting down a vocal 😂 This is an epic, through-composed, journey of a witch finally standing in her power…and rapping about it too. I have LOVED these collabs guys, THANK YOU for this amazing experience 🙏
Sapient: I can't believe how lucky I have been this FAWM to work with this pair of musical geniuses. It's hard to believe what they both did with this song, and just how good they both are at what they do!

Lyrics
VERSE What they don’t know Can’t hurt them But I’ll always Remember what they did (When the lighthouse went dark)
No one injured No one rescued So I visit them In their sleep (When the lighthouse goes dark)
When the light Leaves And you Are filled With dark
BRIDGE There’s no denying I’ve turned, I've modulated The milk is off now, it’s old Coagulated And odour so strong you choke Suffocated The first light will illuminate sins perpetrated
RAP You’re a… Silly little little mangy little matted little cat-man Drinking from the fountain with no idea where you’re at man You’ve messed up, your stuck up, with no gun up Standing up for the town, ha, clown
Reekin’ of it fearful of it not sure where it came from Standing on the fire there’s a hint of something ancient Don't test me, don’t press me Unless you want to see yourself thrown all around
It’s no pressure it’s a simple measure Just to make sure you don’t add to the erasure I’ll blow out your shadow with a click of my finger You’ll not need to linger cos I’m here

This is widescreen music at its best. Feel like this could have soundtracked one of the epic battle scenes from the last season of Arcane. Goes so through many changes and flows so well.
This has some Herculean energy! Great day! What can you folks NOT do?
No idea why I missed this during FAWM. Such an epic collaboration. After that orchestral intro I expected a rather electronic banger and then these guitars. And even a rap? Wow how cool is that?
This blends its different elements so smoothly. I wouldn't have thought that rap works on top of that blend, but it does! Nice finale for the Sea Witch saga.
Another awesome tune! I am a fan of EDM mixed with metal. One of my favorite bands is In This Moment and I can hear elements in your 3's work. I know there could be other musical reference examples but I am only limited to my music knowledge. ;) A great listen.
Wow! What an intro, and what a story. This sounds like it’s been so much fun! A trilogy! Who would have though that? Angelic voice of @rosiebans, mystical, heavy guitar falling in and oh wow, this sequencing guitar (is it a guitar, those high notes?)! A rest point… And than it… Rocks! Totaly unexpected! I would go see this live! I could imagine the energy in the big music hall. I can see cinematic epic images on a big screen behind yous. I don’t know what I Think About the rap in this one honestly. But it is done well. The second more melodic rap I like. The third rap also, with more melody behind it. Still more fan of the second and fourth rap style. But I like the contrast between the two. Now I listen again for the lyrics: First part: simply great. Mystical, direct in person by the witch. Takes you right into her soul. Favourite lines: ‘There’s no denying I’ve turned, I've modulated The milk is off now, it’s old Coagulated And odour so strong you choke Suffocated The first light will illuminate sins perpetrated’
Rap: hahaha. Very funny lyrics. Good rhymes and rhythm.
I’m blown away (again 😊) This is simply fantastic!!! Great done guys!!! When is the release? Keep me informed! 😆🙏🏻
Don't know where to begin with this one. Fantastic from start to finish. Cinematic, hypnotic, expertly produced. Stunning!
Great variety and sounds throughout, such a build of energy, lots of dramatic feels!
Movie soundtrack level epic! I love the atmosphere how it rides up and down, the vocals are top notch, guitar A+, wow!
That was a ride from start to finish. And what an amazing ensemble you put together.
Holy Carp! That was insanely good! More of that please 🙌👏👍🔥🔥🔥
More music from my favorite band? Incredible. The subdued, spacious feel of the verse is luscious with textures, harmonies. The rap is delightful unhinged and flows fantastically. Great call on repeating it.
Well this is excellent. I particularly enjoyed the rap!
HOW DO YOU FOLKS KEEP SURPASSING YOURSELVES? Eh? Answer me that! It should be impossible. Did Michael Gove break reality by claiming that all students could be better than average when he was Education Secretary, or something? (Yes, he really did. He said if they just improved thir scores, this would happen).
I'm gobsmacked. Seriously. This is radio ready.
Steamrollin! from EDM-Metal to Rap. its dyn-o-mite time inthe lighthouse.
OK. Scottish rap is awesome. This whole song is awesome. Great work all!
Cinematic was the first thing that popped into my head before I read #cinematic in the tags! Great collab, great mix and - might I add, great flow
A mash of EDM, metal, and rap...and it freaking slaps. Epic and cinematic are spot on, this is deliciously dark! A hit in my book!!!
This is masterfully done - this is a song where the first minute sounds nothing like the last minute, yet I didn't even notice the transition. It's unpredictable too, for all the smoothness of the scene changes. And it packs so much in, without feeling overwhelming. This lands like a pop song. The lyrics are great, I love the middle 8 in particular with its polysyllabic rhymes, and the quick-fire rapping. Glaswegians should rap more.
I've used this word before, but that was epic. What rapping by @rosiebans! Of course @aeye and @sapient are killer on the instrumentals. Wow.
What a ride - almost operatic at the beginning, moving into rock. I love the mischords in the verse and key changes. The rap is fab and I am in awe of the rhymes on the bridge. So much creativity and versatility in this. Enjoyable listen.
