Who (Can You Love)?

Liner Notes

As I intimated in my bio, I got very excited in the latter half of January, and started several songs, getting at least three to a state of near completion. I think they are just going to get forgotten if I don't write words, record vocals, and stick them up as "honorary" FAWM 2025 tracks. Ironically I think the three I'm going to try to finish today (or as soon as I can after) are better than anything I actually managed in the 28 days. Ah well!

I like the chorus kick in on this one. The words are loosely coherent, and somewhat based on a true story.

Lyrics

You and me riding high on my steed You and me on our way You and him going out on a limb Now it seems that I'm catching a stray

You and me in the deepest of freeze When that joker's as bright as the day There's nobody here to take anyone's side So I guess he'll just take you away

Who can you love? Tell me who Tell me now Who can you love? Tell me who

You and me on the edge of our seat Let the circumstance carry the strain You and I face the difficult day When we settle for seperate pain

Who can you love? Tell me who Tell me now Who can you love? Tell me who

Someone gotta hold me now your gone Someone gotta hold me Like I'd ever make it all alone Like I'd ever make

You and me trying hard to be free But there's little to do with our time It's never too late to be starting the clock Or to move to the end of the line

Who can you love? Tell me who Tell me now Who can you love? Tell me who

Nice lyrics and the chorus is a killer. Cool song

Definitely got it right with that sparkly chorus. Wonderful switch from the mellow verse to that glorious uplift. And I really like the change before the last choruses kick in. Not expected, but it works because of that.

Wonderful chorus. A heartbreaking lyric. Glorious harmonies. Sounds like a real guitar. If so, bravo. There’s a great feel to this song overall. I agree the chorus is the highlight, it’s very catchy.

Can't believe nobody has been around here. Indie goodness, many cool ideas in that song. But most of all I enjoyed the chorus that is clearly a sing along
