Liner Notes

I wrote this as an instrumental to send to a fawm friend whose music I have long admired but she wasn't able to come up with anything (which can sometimes happen. Inspiration either takes or it doesn't). I quite like that I forgot to tune my guitar as I think it works being slightly sharp. I played the drums on this one live all the way through without a mistake which is also pleasing as I am very much a beginner.

Instead of just throwing up as an instrumental I came up with a nice couple of lines in bed this morning and decided, as I am currently learning Spanish, to have a go at some Spanish lyrics for the first ever time. I apologise if I have got any of the grammar wrong, and for my accent which may or may not be appalling! :-)

Nice musical vignette, the trio of voice+piano and that beautifully played guitar, the three very different verses. I commend you for daring to write and sing in Spanish, a language that has my heart. I think communicating/creating in a language other than one’s own teaches something about humility and connection to a bigger better world. In my experience it also allows us to make way more friends if we get the chance to learn more than 1 language in our lifetime, and can open our minds.

Some lovely things happening here -- the little tinkly piano is a perfect foil to the pensive guitar (and I dig the tuning, or, lack thereof!!) Your accent is charming and keeps it real! I'm always in awe of people who can write without having to tie up all the ends in neat little packages -- it makes the listener want to know more! A really good listen! #tit4tat

I also like the slightly out of tune, distant piano ostinato: it adds a different texture to the mellow instruments. El español está todo correcto y bien expresado.

How soft the instruments are! The little piano part, the brushes on the kit, and your glorious harmonies all fit together so well. I really love this.
