See you on the other side
Liner Notes
This is intended for my band, Shifty Statues, which is just drums and guitar (and vox, obvs), hence no bass. No idea what lyrics are meant to mean, but sometimes that's ok.
Lyrics
I know the person I should be And these words don't come easily I am afraid But I know fear is in my head And I can block it if I want Just need to believe
I know it'll turn out alright I'll see you on the other side When everything is going just fine I'll see you on the other side
We'll live to fight another day And it will always end the same We will prevail You know how it's going to go The same old characters act out The same old tale
I know it'll turn out alright I'll see you on the other side When everything is going just fine I'll see you on the other side

I want to headbang to this! Great fuzzy optimism. I also really enjoyed the thing the guitar does that Debs commented on too...
This works so very well. Positivity in the message, and it positively RAWKS!
I like this a lot, I can imagine this working really well with a drums 'n' guitar two- piece. What it means doesn't matter, I like how it has an optimistic worldview. (Though I dof find myself working out a bassline in my head as I'm listening. This is a compliment, believe it or not) J$
It may not mean one thing, but it feels like it could mean multiple things! Sounds great, too. I like the high vocals on a song that rocks this hard.
Cool big fuzzy buzzy guitar sound and driving beat! Great delivery of the hook and nice change up between verses and chorus.
Hell yeah!
Love the guitar and the drums too! It's fine without bass, and even if you don't know what the lyrics mean!
This kind of feels like very uplifted positive grunge maybe? I love it! But okay hang on WHAT is that cool end-of-phrase-kinda-pop-vaguely nintendo-sounding thing that the guitar is doing after "afraid" and "prevail"? I have no idea but the last bit of it almost sounds like Mario jumping and I'm just ...obsessed.
I love the energy and drive - and the rollerderby punk shouting on the chorus is a treat.
I don't have the words to describe it, but the little metallic string-slidey sound effects are awesome, especially as the lines cut abruptly short to make room for them on the stage.
Ohhhhhhh! That guitar is the sh****! Love it!
Smashin'.
I like the positive energy to this one, and the chorus is catchy. This is how the chicken pumps themself up to cross the road.
Very rocky! Your voice could be much louder, no? I would love to sing a second voice to it, if there was not a full week approaching and I know I will hardly find time to work on more songs for my challenge!
Helen - I read the lyric on the page and hear three chords and the truth - then turn on the music and you grab me by the heart beat, and I'm min-thrash dancing on the couch in the dark. It's so effective, and feels like it's writing the message on the inside of my heart. And there's this other side of it being such a good way to exit FAWM. Along with turning the lights up and the chairs, you could blare this music and we can all stream out the doors with it still pounding in our heads. Also just had an image from a movie about an autistic kid that I saw a million years ago. I watched the kid rocking back and forth staring at a spoon, and thought how completely soothing that looked. Listening to this song is just like what I imagined then.
