This is just a feel good happy pop song - I came up with the middle 8 (la la la bit) first, then everything else just fell into place. Not much more I can say.
For the gear minded people -
This was recorded using a Zoom R8, using the built in chorus reverb and mastering effects. .
The bass is a Squire Contemporary Active Jazz Bass. There are two guitar tracks panned left and right, one is a DI'd Ovation Celebrity, the other is a Gibson Les Paul. Drums are played in real time on an Alesis Percussion Pad. There are three tracks of vocals, two panned left and right and the third centrally placed.

This has a strongly Zappa-esque feel to it, although Frank would have warped the sentiment into something ironic; this feels like it's genuinly happy and positive. An active Jazz Bass, you say? Oooh! It's sounding good, too.

I thought of tons of subtitles for this song. Coregulation. Ecstasy in My Muddy Day. LaLaLaLaLa. The Middle 8 in Middle Age. The feeling reminded me of a friend’s story about digging through the trash at McDonald’s looking for her keys in a state of ecstasy when she was in her second trimester. I had the same feeling listening while I filled the dishwasher this morning. Like love and connection are already enough.

"Joyful, joyful", as someone once said. [I think it was Sophocles but B reckons Lauryn Hill. 🤷]
Anyway, nicely uplifting, the song shifts along neatly with the, um, human drumming and popping bass.

This made me smile and that's always a great sign in a song. Your vocals sound great. Some good lines in there too (e.g. there's something smelly and it's blocking up the sink). And the syncopated "lovely day" hook is super-catchy. Nice one.

This gives me a sense of childhood in the best way, grew up a 90’s kid and I’m getting lots of alt rock 90’s inspired by the 60’s vibes from this that I absolutely LOVE! I love the layering lalalala’s !

I love how 'lovely' has three syllables! So much fun. This is 'Don't Worry, Be Happy' for a new generation.
