An Unsustained Period Of Rational Thinking

Here's the second in my mini feast today (only three.) All of the lines were stolen from Edna St. Vincent Millay, but they were chopped up and rearranged, like the little poetry word game you can get for your fridge. I'm sure it's all completely unrecognizable now. Oh, and I twisted it to reflect my ongoing battle with accepting my aging body.

Lyrics

Time built the child to walk alone Then came the anguish to harden soft bone Forget the darkness, remorse and shame Forget the torment from whence it came Such hope I hope to dread no more Only anguish left to drag me forth Attends no less the things put there All skins are shed, the first white hair

Very cool guitars layered on the atmosphere and vocal effects, the guitar pick up in intensity at the end is like a storm cloud.

Thanks for sharing the process, including the lyrical steal, chop and rearrange. I've heard of this process, but it's great to see it in action! Nice guitar stabs throughout, and I feel the dread in it. If only I were only at my first white hair, lol

Another song which brings out the best in both worlds - the infinite possibility and colour of the soundscape with the personal expression of the band rocking the pub.

Despite the brevity of the lyrics, and the at-times spartan composition, there's enough going on that it seems like more than 2.5 minutes' worth of content. And perhaps the fight-or-flight tension that builds throughout accentuates that.

So experiential. Somewhere between music and performance art. I really liked it

I like the menace of this. It harks back to early Frippertronics but is more versatile.
