Ashes On The Wind

by @sapient

Liner Notes

This is a morphed song I took this one from @frozenlonesome: https://write.fawm.org/songs/307578 And changed it by 50%. Yeah, 50%. No more no less koff koff

That Beignet Tiki Shack? Yeah, it burnt down. This is its funeral.

(and I know it's 8 mins long, but if you stick around until the end you get a little something extra...)

#morph2 #metal #doom

Lyrics

Oh hallowed shrine Where are thou? Naught but ash Scattered by the wind

Food of the gods Future Denied Burnt offerings Cast into the sea

Roots unearthed Bone-bleached and raw Remembrance Of what is lost

After listening to the previous I was very curious about your version. I could have guessed dark country and metal both... but not funeral doom?! I especially enjoyed the solo part close to the end. Crazy twist!!! And the very end hahaha

@ragbag

Such a turn for the morph to take here - yet I can still see the previous in it. Amazing how it's morphing - Love the grungy guitar and the contrast of the clean vocals. All 7 minutes and 56 seconds of it are fab. Definitely worth hanging on for the end. :-)

Love the blend of clean singing and fry. The walls of sound. The tongue in cheek concept of the morph. The explosive solo. Great job

@wacha

I'd be lying if I said I didn't groan a little at the length but hat dam that was worth it! This song is solid and such a great morph from the song before you. I love that the guitar from the previous song is still quite prominent in yours, nice work!

@povosos

Aaah, the guitar is pounding so hard! Such a satisfaction, and the atmosphere of the break still stays true to the song while being a break. Also, great growls!

That ending is epic! Love the guitar tone for the lead guitar as well.

@gordon

Loving that demonic guitar sound. Really nicely put together all-round. Nice monk-like harmonies too. Good job sir!

This is an excellent #morph. I love your take on @bradbrubaker’s song. Very demonic sounds. This could have been an alternate soundtrack to when Frodo was trekking to Mt. Doom. Nicely done and the guitar that starts around 6:30 really caps off the song.

@emplate

Ah, I love that clean picked guitar on top of all the distortion. That immediately makes me think of Esoteric, although this may have more of a trad doom rather than their funeral/psychedelic feeling. Like pointed out, the vocal harmonies are a nice touch!

@dhiatt

Love the tolling bells and sustained chords, very 🤘 Great tone. Your drum tone is always so on point. Oh so doomy. Vocal harmonies are fun but the screams are great. :)

I like how you twisted the story. I like the fire sounds in your tune. I especially like your choral singing. Those voice lessons are paying off! Kick @$$, per usual

Doom is an appropriate hashtag for this one! Kept me guessing the whole 8 minutes about where you were going to go next. Nicely done!
