Challenge: MORSE CODELiner Notes
Seeing the #morsecode challenge, what immediately came to mind, since I am in a protest kinda mood, was to look up the Morse code for the letters F and U. It turns out, you can make a nice rhythm out of them! And I ended up writing what could only be a rap song.
I borrowed my wife’s loop station (thank you, @caitlin), and since a rap needs some smoking hot female vocals, I borrowed her voice for the end, too. You won’t see her in the video, but you’ll hear her!
Lyrics
I’m so anxious I can’t sleep. I’m building cases in my head Against executive overreach. I’m filled with existential dread In my bed When I look ahead, Wonder… who’ll be dead. And how many. And when.
Chorus Ooooooh, oooooh. Tell me what I can do To put this anxiety to good use.
I’m so angry every day As I see the slew of lies That come spouting from their mouths, Being used to justify All their crimes. Hear my rhyme. …Take your time. Before your country Is gone.
Chorus Anger
I’m so afraid for our future Cuz I don’t see any spine In the folks who could stand up And somehow hold the line. Check the signs. You’re not blind. It’s clear…this isn’t fine. In fact, It’s bad.
Chorus Fear
I’m sending a big F. U. To all the people who Are making fascism great again. Great again. Great again. X2
We gotta hold the line!

I would never come to the idea to use a mouse code as a loop. The lyrics are relatable for many right now. Crazy things going on!
Genius way to take this challenge! And I love the last stanza ("to all the people who are making fascism great again.")
This was really fun - dug the acapella looping. Very much in a Reggie Watts stylee. Love to see creativity get the most out of voices and a hatful of hardware.
Really clever use of the morse code challenge to send this very needed message. Great job.
Very cool... and finding a new box for yourself! I have to try something new this month! And it's always great to hear Caitlin!
Great message and your beat is so organic, great job!
Cool use of the morse code for the letters to set the underlying beat. Excellent piece of work. This one should get worked up as a full studio recording. The message is dead on, and what so many of us are feeling. Tell stories that matter. Sing truth to power. ✊🏼
The morse does provide an interesting rhythm. These protest songs are popping up all over the place. I am glad to see them. The situation does seem dire. Caitlins vocal break was great. You should really produce this into a full song. Great potential!
How cool is that? I think you are putting that anger and anxiety to good use. Keep protesting! Keep teaching folks. Great collab too.
Brilliant to use F.U.morse code as your rhythm loop! Lyrics are great and express my overwhelming sentiment. I do hop more people wake up and DO something before they no longer can
Clever take on the morse challenge. Righteous rap !
