Heavenly Bodies

Nick: I threw together a backing track to offer up, with a couple James Bond style chord progressions. Fortunately Roxy was up to challenge, and really brought the lyric and melody and vocals--even the high note. This was a great random collaboration!

@roxya: My first time writing something for a backing track. Was a great exercise for little old acoustic guitar playing me. Bit out of the comfort zone for sure. Lyrics wise I had this idea about the heavenly bodies (sun, moon, stars etc.) floating around and wanted to write a song using as many of them as I can. I don't think I got that many but it did inspire this tale.

Lyrics

The moon is bright Such a magical night The stars, they shine Oh its something divine

Your warm embrace Filling all of space Your loving gaze has left me in a daze

Heavenly bodies stuck in a solar storm Heavenly bodies falling like a meteor Heavenly bodies have lost their lonely form Heavenly bodies need I say more

My whole expanse Locked in this dance Like satellites We're orbiting Your ocean tides Have drenched my skies I’m hanging on for dear life

There’s no pretence Locked in this dance Like satellites We're orbiting Your ocean tides Have drenched my skies When you smile I can't deny

Heavenly bodies stuck in a solar storm Heavenly bodies falling like a meteor Heavenly bodies have lost their lonely form Heavenly bodies need I say more

The music track is wonderful and challenging, and you knocked it out of the park. Quite erotic and fitting James Bond. Beautiful vocals and melodies. 👏👏💖💖 #tit4tat

I really like the rhythms of this song, the slow dance. Great music -- love the strings and snare. I'm sure I was influenced by the initial comment but I really can see this as a Bond theme song. Great vocal, mysterious and enticing and (at least for me), with a shock of sexuality on "Your ocean tides // Have drenched my skies." The chorus really works and I like how you back it off on the next to last time, then bring it all on the final one.

Ooh, this feels sultry! Great lyrics. Love the musical change on the "My whole expanse" verse. Such a great subtle drop. The storm-meteor rhyme was unexpected and inspired. It's always great to get out of your comfort zone.

This definitely gives me the James Bond feels. Is it the chord progression? The slow build up? This song is super cool. More people should listen to that magic the random collaboration offered #tit4tat

This is a terrific collaboration. The beautiful lyrics, rich and gorgeous harmonies are fantastic. Really enjoyed the instrumentation and definitely got a James Bond vibe.

“Need I say more”.

Lovely feel with those strings and the piano behind a wonderful vocal. If you got the full orchestra coming in on that last verse, then it would be the next Bond theme song!
