Lonely Nights (ft Glorious Disaster)

Liner Notes

WOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!! WE LOVE YOU!!!!

We've been out on the road the last year in our purple spandex and are LOVING all the packed stadiums and arenas FULL of the BEST FANS EVER!! You all ROCK!!

But being out on the road isn't always the glam rocker life you might think it is. As much as we love all of you (THE BEST FANS EVER), we love our families even more and they can't always come out on the road with us. It is tough to balance giving you the show you deserve and giving the ones we love the life they deserve. Yet somehow we are able to max out both sides and rock everyone's worlds! YEAH!!!!!

We have a new song that represents these ideas and thought you'd like to hear it. It's a brand spanking new power ballad that Matty and Mordy wrote about life on the road. Yamaha even sent us a SWEET brand new Yamaha DX-7 to make this song even more amazing, if that was possible. They aren't even available in stores yet!! You won't BELIEVE what this synth can do!! But as smooth and sweet as this song is, you KNOW that it also ROCKS HARD, so don't get caught napping, or you'll be kicked awake when Matty's custom amp turns WAY up and Dutch's AWESOME guitar solo hits!!!

Be sure to call your local DJ and request it – we know you will because YOU ALL ROCK!!!! We each sprayed on an extra can of AquaNet, so our hair is bigger than ever! The amps are tuned up so the guitars are louder than ever! Our fans are ALWAYS better than EVER! PURPLE SPANDEX 4EVER!!!!!

With love - Matty, Mordy and Dutch - YOUR Glorious Disaster!! WHOOOAAAAAA!!!!!!!! YEAHHHHHHH!!!!! 🤘🤘

Lyrics

Another lonely night Without you beside me Another full stadium And still I feel alone Wheels on the tour bus turning Counting down all the miles Sound check is coming soon But I'm wanting to be home

Purple spandex is on My voice is great tonight Guitar, bass, drums are rocking hard And yet inside I moan The girls all gather round But none of them excite me I see your face in my mind And I'm wanting to come home

CH: Rolling down the road With the band and singing songs Is all right for what it is But what I really really really need right now Is to feel your loving kiss

I want your arms around me I want to feel your touch When you are not with me I miss you oh so much I hope you're sleeping all right I hope the kids are well Sometimes it feels like the road Makes me an empty shell

CH: Rolling down the road With the band and singing songs Is all right for what it is But what I really really really need right now Is to feel your loving kiss

Another lonely night

Another lonely night Without you beside me Another full stadium And still I feel alone I love the music baby Don't get me wrong But I love you even more And I'm wanting to come home

Love the arrangement, a slow burn....I could picture the moment when the lights came up and the fog flooded the stage! Sounds like this was a blast to put together, what a great collab. Great job! 😁

Glamming for the win! That lead guitar tone is delicious. What a great collaboration!

I love this semi-unplugged version. I think it works so well and it is ready to be pressed on tape/vinyl/whathaveyou. Another great track!

An instant classic! or a classic instant? Not sure but way cool!, As so well put by someone else RAWWK!!! Clever, nostalgic, superbly corny, I miss my spandex and long hair! Cheers

I was told this was a song not to miss on the Zoom. Vocal chorus/double effect works well for the Glam metal vibe. Got a kind of Ziggy Stardust vibe. I like when the bass rolls in along with the electric. Vocal affectation works really well for this. I was glad when the guitars finally kicked in to full gear right before the solo, it was a well done slow build to get there, and the payoff was worth it.

Lyrically it's a fun exploration of an emotionally vulnerable hair metal touring...dad? Like where all those glam rock bands would be in middle age, if hair metal and glam rock had stayed in vogue.

Yes. You guys are at it again! A slow one this time to get the girls with. Secretly you like the slow ones (me too). Sooo fun to hear a fresh song from an 80's metal band. I hope Minneapolis is one of your tour stops!

@audrey

This is sumptuous. What a great melody and production. Creative idea for a lyric. I can feel his longing in these descriptive words. Good write. The music in this is fabulous - so enjoyable. Glad I stopped by to hear this one.

Wow, a slow Glorius Disaster song! Your voice on this is STELLAR, I can entirely imagine it's the rocker dude in the photo. Loving the guitar solo, enhancing the sad in such a beautiful way. This tucked me into a nice and cozy melancholy cocoon.

Ok, I've got my lighter up. Everything in the execution of this screams big hair metal ballad! And a heart-aching story behind it all.

[avatar]

It's tough out there for a rock-n-roll superstar sex symbol. The vocal inflections are so on point. Glorious rock catharsis moment. "I hope the kids are well" hahaha

I mean, just for the liner notes alone, this deserves a might note of recognition.

this starts glorious, it grows and grows . . and then that solo hits, oh my, how it hits.

so much texture, this could be used to teach people what hair rock should be.

Purple Spandex FTW. I am a lifelong GDisasterhead! Keep bronging the RAWK!

[avatar]

I have no words. Everything about this is amazing. Holy shit.

I've been waiting to hear this! Always a highlight of FAWM. You guys were great at the Garden. The crowd was headbanging with you the whole time, and this is a great break. I was swaying along until that guitar break. Shred!!!!!!

@tfish77

Wowwwww you all NAILED the hair metal power ballad, nailed it to the WALL. WITH ROCK. The liner notes alone warrant a listen, the lyrics are the whipped cream on top of the cherry pie, and there's not an ounce of poison in this dish. Excellent work.

[avatar]

Yeah! Where’s my lighter? Wow guys, this is spot on for 1987. 🕯️

[avatar]

Oh wowsers. The whole set up was hilarious with the hair band thing. But the song itself is true to the genre in every way! I don’t know who is doing what but yeah! Wailing vocals, roaring guitars and a heartbreak lyrics. What’s not to love?

[avatar]
@leepat

the songwriting all came together in the third verse - why make us wait that long? oh wait, it’s the 80’s. ok, we forgive you. but only because of Axl, the solo and … the spandex. YEAH!

[avatar]

I look forward to this or its colleagues! They return! And with a vengeance! Tongue in cheek for sure but you do it so well! And that solo! Ah! I am taken back to a time! Such fun and so well done! Bravo guys!

@nadine

Thanks for cheering me up with some 80s hairspray fairy dust. I did not expect a ballad, but you definitely hit that BIG full band moment around 2:26. The solo is killer. Guess that's the ending song of your EP?! When will it drop? Or are you going for a 12 track?! Purple Spandex forever!

[avatar]

ALL HAIL THE SPANDEX!

The fact that I know what you guys are like IRL just makes this hundreds of times funnier. That, and the fact that back in the 80s it wouldn't have occurred to anybody that this was even slightly ironic.

Killer solo, my dudes.

@aeye

I had to run around the house and find a lighter just for this one so I could hold it up.

This is a glorious triumph with a glorious guitar solo.
