Bits and Pieces

Skirmish: Bits And Pieces (@lyricslinger)

Liner Notes

The prompt on this skirmish was just brilliant. Even though I broke all the skirmish rules, I still wanted to put this song up. The prompt was that Ozzy said he was only playing "Bits and Pieces" with Black Sabbath at his farewell show. What song is "Bits and Pieces"? I submit my version for your review.

The performance is terrible, I'm no Ozzy Osbourne. But I think this is what he will play with Sabbath. I can only hope Tony Iomi will play the kazoo part.

Lyrics

3 am I wake up Shaken up from a snore Get up to take a pee knock my tea on the floor

Bits and pieces Lying on the floor The shards sticking in my feet as I run to the door

Bits and pieces In every direction Need to pick them out before I get an infection

Prismatic stained glass Centers a headless bat Baseball hole Through his wing kid rides by In a flat brim hat.

Bits and pieces In every direction Now I gotta call the window guy And get the broom out of the kitchen

Bits and pieces Lying on the floor A precious birthday gift From Alice Cooper.

My bones they break like this delicate glass I not even allowed to walk on the grass Tried to help with dishes last week After my fourth dropped glass the maid began to shriek.

Bits And pieces Lying on the floor Half the family's china From back before the war.

Bits and pieces Fill my garbage bags The blood flows in the street From the shreds of my legs

haha the doooooom! I love the line "Shaken up from a snore," very relatable. Then the lyrics, almost get sad, or at least agitated. No one wants to have to call the window, plumbing, electric guy. Is this a heavily distorted acoustic guitar?

That riff! That Sabbath vibe is HERE! Damn, wouldn't it be weird if they DID come out and play this at their final show... 😜🤣

Yes! Gives me Jack White vibes. The guitar sets the tone and tells the whole story. With a vocal production at the same the level, you have a great rocker! (Thx for you comments on my song, btw!)
