Mad at life

Liner Notes

I wanted to depict ADHD and uncontrolled energy, but the music turned out quite differently and I believe the final song rather depicts #anxiety, stress and discomfort. I think the music is scared, mad, crying, shouting. Curious as to what you hear in it.

I played with varying #odd-time-signature, unsettling dissonants, long stretches of the same bass note, not too many instruments this time (piano, two strings, tuba and two #synth distorted thingies), a short slightly-gentler intermezzo, and an ending that reverses the beginning. My favorite bit is the crescendo section in the middle.

This is really gorgeous...I think the time signature is really effective to make things feel a little off-kilter...but at the same time, the piano sounds so symphonic and complete. Great write!

Wow! Didn’t expect this! Surely going to follow you now! 😄😊 How beautiful and amazing is this! This sounds like a Debussy and Rachmaninov and a little jet of Star Wars engine in it… Oh and later on a bit of Beethoven. Hahaha, so you wanted to depict ADHD, but then it became actualy what is ‘under’ ADhD, or presumably everything that is possibly caused by it 😆 Here fellow companion ;-) And fellow pianist companion too 🥳 You play great and your work sounds outstanding. Surprising ending, feeding the desire for more ;-) Where and how did you lezen to play like that? And to add the midi or synth sounds? #tit4tat

I agree with the feeling of anxiety corresponding to the dissonances. I particularly liked what I think you're referring to as the intermezzo section, but it's excellent throughout.

I did not even notice that the music is in odd signature. It is so dramatic, and I like the dynamic playing. Really hits hard at some moments. I must admit that I don't like to listen to classical music but I enjoyed this a lot. #Tit4Tat

I heard defiant boldness for the first half, right through the crescendo. Might be me! A weary resignation sets in (probably caused by the tuba!) before the insistent discord nags us towards completion. I loved the piano throughout.

I liked this. Lot. Definitely some anxiety going on, but I hear hints of hope and optimism throughout and especially around 2:03. Interesting and captivating song. Thanks for sharing this with us.
