I got the idea to write this when I saw the skirmish prompt, "I just Caught a Glimpse". I didn't write this as a skirmish, I just borrow ideas and don't participate LOL!!

I caught a glimpse of you as you walked away at the outdoor market just the other day
You were with someone new tightly holding hands I see you're moving on I can understand
chorus as you take the next step, I seem to find I've been having trouble leaving my heart behind
I took a deep breath of the summer breeze tried to calm my heart and turned to leave
I just wanted to run, and get far from this place I'll never look back to see your face
bridge by the stream I saw the color of the leaves fall's on its way to take the place of the breeze my season's about to change, I'm going to try not to leave my heart behind

Some of your best vocals here (love the various vocal lines intertwining) and a beautifully melancholy 70s vibe. The light percussion and jazzy chords are perfect.

So beautiful and soulful. I can definitely recall the struggle of letting someone go. It never seemed or felt this achingly good. This has reminded me of what a powerhouse vocalist not to mention musician and lyricist you are.

Great hook line. Multiple vocals interweaving is a great technique as well as the doubling of the vocal in the chorus.

Yeah I like those chord choices. Kinda reminds me of something Carol King might do, which is a good thing. I love how the chorus really leaps up. Very effective. And the rhythmic vocal in the bridge is on point. And isn't that "I've been having trouble leaving my heart behind" a great line? I like this lots!

The tempo feels good to me. Nice soulful vocals. The vocals really sound great, particularly with the harmonies. The percussion adds a nice dimension too.

Nice and Jazzy. Sad song but the bridge shows some hope of recovery and I like stream, nature and season aspect of the lyric there. Well done.

Glad I came back. The track has a soul vibe to it that I really like. It is peaceful and relaxed and it I think it makes the lyrics stronger with the song attached. Really nice little number.

It played for me! Really strong chorus, in the way it sums up a whole complex situation in two lines, and the way you sing it with such passion.
