Get Into Space

Finishing off a whole bunch of songs today... and I know I already did one this FAWM called 'Blast Off Into Space', but this song developed entirely independently, haha. It's based on an idea I recorded on my phone in September last year (the main verse/prechorus), stitched onto an idea I recorded in August (the outro), with an all-new chorus.
Rough mix, but I think most of the recording itself will survive through to the final version, whenever that may be. Get a bit more polish on the vocals and rely a bit less on mixing in a vocoder, ha.
Pretty stoked with this one. Probably my best this FAWM, in terms of 'trying to write a Weezer song', if that's my benchmark.

I really like all the dynamic shifts, getting more and more frantic towards the end and then quickly ramping down. Kept my attention because I was never quite sure where it was going to go. Nice lyrics, lots of room to interpret on either a very personal/relationship level or much broader commentary on the current state of the world. Meaningful either way (or both!) 🚀
