Spacing Out
Liner Notes
I was out at a gig last night so I'm very tired today and the wooziness is coming across in my music. This is an #ambient piece that ended up sounding much more like #Eno than I expected it to. But it's all about the #stompboxes, here. My Red Panda Particle 2, Mooer Ocean Machine, Eventide H90, and Chase Bliss Mood Mk2 are responsible for the #gorgeousness.
And this is a savagely cut down production, for me: one track of Fender Jazz bass, two tracks of Korg M3 piano, and three guitar tracks (one of the Squier Strat, two of my Hohner Dreadnought acoustic).

So spacious and layered. This is a great piece and will find its way into my music diet.
Really like the “gorgeousness” going on. Super spacious, ambient and just creates a beautiful soundscape. This is all pedals responsible for this?
You've got a Chase Bliss? Dammmn. I sometimes watch videos of people using them on YouTube in order to de-stress. This definitely gave me the same feeling. I imagine it's really difficult in ambient to get things to play nice with those long reverb/fx tails, but you arranged things really well. I particularly love that bass sound (is it a fretless?). Gorgeous sounds.
First of all, great job on 28 songs. That’s more than I have ever done in FAWM. Second, thanks for your generous response to Postcard from the Bigfoot Discovery Museum. Glad you liked it.
Third, this a rich soundscape with dripping reverb and fx. Doesn’t seem stripped down to me and that’s a good thing. I enjoyed the relaxing track and especially the piano.
"Cut down production"...with all those pedals less is more and I'm not sure if more would be more or too much. For a mostly ambient-ish piece of music it's very listenable and likeable.
Slightly off-topic: I'm shopping for a reverb pedal (plugin reverbs are abundant over here) with ambient qualities. As a gearhead, what are your recommendations?
Mmmm...I'm floating along with you. I like how it slowly gains momentum...and then shifts gears entirely. Even though it's very relaxed, there's an undertone of rhythm that makes it feel dynamic. Lovely, shimmering, melodic...and then you leave us with a feeling of suspense
Wow, love this! Very atmospheric and I love that bass! 😍
I do love me some stomp boxes.. this has some great atmosphere and I like the change midway through. guitars sound great., very enjoyable
Such great shimmer on this one, takes off and away, very uplifting fell in here!
Yes!!! This gots such a wideness and then the piano and the bass bing us down to Earth again but in a very gentle way! I also imagine watching clouds in the sky … Great!
Those tags got me. Yeah, Eno I guess, but to me it sounds just like you! Love that big bass. Sounds great against the piano. This is lovely and shimmery. Nice soundtrack for sitting here looking out the window watching yet more snow fall. Nice.
The "Eno" caught my eye, and this is indeed worthy of the master. Love the mood you've created. Billowing synths, lovely guitar and nice melodic bass! And then the change-up with the piano brings it into prog territory. Sounds what I imagine heaven to be like.
Wonderful soundscape to float away in...this is lovely. Love the bass tone you've got going here too.
Aah, sweet shimmer reverb ... never fails to create a mood. Love how the piano comes in and the bass complements it (sounds a lot like fretless?). Nice sound to dream away. Love the chord changes at the end.
well rendered portrait of outer space --- lends the cosmos to the imagination for a stretch --- makes travelling at light speed feel breezy
