Only Passing Time

Liner Notes
A quick acoustic thingy to at least get to double figures. Guitar could do with a better take but it'll do
Lyrics
I’m staying low I prefer no one to know That I’m around So I keep my head down
I have no plans to meet old friends Or catch up on past events I’m only passing time
I’m out of touch But the world don’t miss me much It’s had all I had to give And this is what I’m left with
I’ve no old flames to relight Or regrets I need to put rights I’m only passing time

Sounds like you've been on a fingerpicking spree! And I'm glad for it. Nice reflective piece without all the bells and whistles
Just the guitar figure alone is worth the listen -- I echo Taro's comments that the tone of the guitar recording is exquisite.
The lyric is devastating in its lonely brevity, but the contrast between the the words and the music give both such a deeper sense of feeling. Maybe depression really ain't so bad, zero-calorie melancholy.
Lovely piece of music with a desolate but rather beautiful lyric.
Beautiful guitar playing and arrangement. Really enjoyed the chorus. Music really works well the lyrics. Some interesting chord transitions in the verse which I appreciated!
Your guitar playing is sumptuous. What a lovely instrumental melody and vocal melody as well. I really enjoyed this a lot. It's very soothing to the ear and mind.
I'm a big fan of that fingerpicking rhythm and the progression - sounds spot on to me. I do wish I could fingerpick properly. It's quite busy so it's good that the vocal melody is relatively simple. It's the perfect compliment for it. I await an Iwilleatyou comment about passing wind/solids soon
No, the guitar couldn't do with a better take. A beautiful exercise in personal equanimity.
This is just gorgeous. I’m getting some Nick Drake vibes here. Those harmonies are so satisfying. Lovely work!
Love how much of the body and woodiness of the guitar you’ve got there; sounds so warm and comforting. Which feels very much in keeping with the hunkering down vibe of the lyrics. And the vocal is similarly warm and silky. Your liner note makes this feel almost like an incidental song (made while just passing time), but it’s a whole lot better than that!
This is a lovely guitar line and a great vocal melody, performed delightfully well. If there are any minor errors or accidents, it only adds to the charm of the song. So impressed.
This is lovely. Beautiful warm recording. Sweetly melancholic lyrics. A little gem. What guitar's that, Tim?
lovely picking! yup no regrets! really nicely done.
