I started with a bass line, and a guitar part, and cahon and drum, and finally found the words and...the backing track was too slow for the lyrics, and it just didn't really feel right for the words even if I could have magically sped it up. Aaugh!

So then I picked up my #autoharp and did an #acousticonetake instead.

Sometimes I want to leap up high and just unfurl my wings And soar into the sky or space or even undersea To leave behind my worries about All Of The Things And explore the wide cosmos and just be

Though I would miss my autoharps, and my wide, soft bed And chocolate whenever I want some And I’d miss singing harmonies and jamming with my friends In a vacuum, I’d effectively be dumb!

So, really what I ought to wish is that I’d get to choose Scales, feathers, or fur, some of the time And then shift back to human, follow my creative muse And draw and dance and sing and play and rhyme

Oh the old tale of the grass is always greener on the other side. I like that the narrator realised that shifting would just bring different problems. Don't we all wish for the best of both worlds. #tit4tat

So often, shapeshifting stories focus on what new things you might do or be, not what would be left behind. I like that you've brought up your instruments and other human technology as things you might miss.

I really love the different perspective you bring to this with all of the different animals and how well you justify it. Really love the instrumental layers. I really love the lyrics. Sounds like it would be the best of all worlds! Very creative and clever! Gorgeous delivery!
