At your suggestion, I'm removing the vocal double (audio is rendering now), which should produce a more natural sound. Been leaning in that direction anyway, so your comment sealed the deal.

Also removed any pitch modification by Melodyne, given that it's detecting the key of D when it's in fact the key of C. ):|

Thank you for your comment. I just did a little work on the track to make it a bit better. Looking forward to really get it rerecorded and mixed! I like layering and I really love rounds.

Thank you @andybalham for the comment about RTFM. I did indeed drive sysadmin's nuts because I was always trying to finish something faster than i truly needed to. It's sort of a life lesson. One of us woulda had to learn the software... so nowadays I try to. But isn't it faster to ask someone? :)
