Fly tipping [FT]

#satire #folkrock @blindkiwi (who among other nefarious deeds first convinced me to turn to Cigarbox Guitars and indeed gifted me a wiring loom and pups so how could I back out?) sent me this great lyric of the curse of our countryside, the upwardly mobile disposing of their downwardly mobile goods on the public tip aka back road verge. In mitigation, I hafta say one Council we pay rates to charges $100 to accept a mattress in the tip, though our local only charges $31. At the upper price, who is surprised that mattresses and other junk miraculously appear on roadsides?
@blindkiwi is putting up another version. But this attempt started in disaster, the digital recorder failing 0.5 seconds after the voice finished, the MIDI not turned on, a mess. I was left with a vocal that I wasn't game to do more than once, and a great piano part with a metronome going TOCKTOCKTOCK the whole way through! Normally I'd re-feed a MIDI recording into a patch without the metronome but...no MIDI recording. A #rubbish-recording. But wait! It's a #rubbish-song! or a song about rubbish, anyway. Perhaps I could exhume #Flying-Tadpole's-Travelling-Blues-Band from the crypt and set them to it, then no-one would even notice the ticktock, right? So I did. Alas, the metronome works for most of it except that bit where the singer got lost, the piano got lost, so all the johnny-come-lately's got lost too. Still and all, this is a #fast greatly #danceable bit of #jam or #toejam #rock-and-roll which I enjoyed immensely and took faaaarrrr too long over it, and the social #satire is pointed and superb. #cbg
BK: What can I say. Dirty blues, Rock and roll, Flying Tadpole gonna save your soul! Tim this so much better than what I had in mind. Love it 😎

Love that Boogy Woogy piano, and the horn like guitar lines. This is a candidate for a pub sing along. Seems like you took a page from the Liverpool lads playbook, and made it even more fun!
Wow, this really swings! That driving bluesy piano provides a great vehicle for the lyrics… particularly enjoyed the structure of the verses - they are really foot tap inducing.
The slightly tilted rhythm and piano riffing is captivating! I really enjoyed the vibe of this -- rollicking fun!
I love the toe tapping movement in this ….. the keys are fantastic with the cool rhythms and sections of brass and woodwinds. Love those layered vocals! So much fun to listen to! Enjoyed the lyrics, the fun expressive vocal delivery, and great interplay of instruments.
This has a sweet rollicking roll to it. The "Fly Tipping" reply tag on the chorus fits well. Digging the piano. And the lyrics are pointed. And, true to my FAWM experience, I learned something new (having to Google Fly Tipping, as I did)
bwtween that barrelhouse iano and cigar bod guitar, what else can you hope for. well, how about some hilarious lyrics about a common but little discussed practice of junk disposal sung in a most hilariously unique fashion? this is a music-packed romp through those weird, crazy countrysides that we drive through on our way to someplace else.
I commented on the lyric previously! I said was a great 1 finger salute song! nicely done Tim, I think you have the start of musical.
LOL...a lot going on here.... good stuff, man!
Putting aside the sad and more serious observational elements of the words, this is a hilarious. Listening to the music, I feel the enjoyment must have had creating it. I imagine big smiles and lots of laughing. That comes across loud and clear. Makes it a joy to listen to…so well done.
