Lyrics

No Begging
by Cindy Prince and Tammy Jann © 2025

I once pleaded for my man to stay He left anyway I once cried a million tears too But I won't be doing that with you

I once tried everything to keep him But it was goodbye Jim I once got so deeply depressed But I won't ever again be second best

Chorus There won't be any begging And I won't be double checking To see where you've been There won't be any pleading And I won't be left bleeding I'll never do that again

Bridge I love myself now too much To ever need a crutch Or to prop myself up for a man

What I once did is in the past I hope this love will last I'll do anything to protect my heart I think with you I'm ready to start

I love the vocal delivery here. There's emotion and attitude in the phrasing. Great lyrics with an important sentiment. The bridge says it all. Cool percussion too.

Cindy's lyrics are so awesome, telling this tale so perfectly! I just love, Love, LOVE the No Begging hook/title! The structure and rhymes are just perfect!

Tammy's powerful and sultry vocals paired with her music and production take these words to new heights! What an excellent musication and performance!

A great collaboration by two of my favorite FAWMers!

@jinx

Fantastic story and performance! I really like the vocal harmonies.

That's the thing with Cindy's lyrics, they just sing at you and you just can't refuse them! Good setting, I like the inventive and effective progression. Powerful lyric and the presentation (voice) gets it over well.

You two!!! Insightful and beautifully crafted lyrics and a musical treatment that really makes them shine. I’m thinking the story is kind of the sequel to “Jolene” 🤣

Nice collab! The drive and the melody carry the determination of the lyric to its natural conclusion. The BGVs somehow make the POV character into "everywoman" -- brava!

@cindyrella These lyrics are so well written. I love how you lay out the bottom line in the bridge. So many great one liners in this piece (as I quietly go..."yeah that's right sister!!" while listening to @tamsnumber4 sing it out. Tammy your voice emotes and soars to such great heights, like, yeah, been there, f**k that. I feel you. What a great collab. Brava Grrlz!

Such great stuff! Lyrics, music and performance are a perfect match!

Nice layering in the vocals, I like the slightly understated guitar, it’s there to hold not to star, that space is left for that strong vocal delivery! Nice one.

I love that this sang off the page for you, and I'm thrilled with the outcome! You could musicale my doodling I think! I love the attitude and the wonderful vocals! Thanks so much!!

it always amazes me how cindy's lyrics sing themselves off the page, inspiring so many singers to join in the song even before they finish reading the lines. equally amazing is how each singer will find their own song in the lyric. inspiration can take so many different routes. tammy makes cindy's lyric her own with this lively resolution to not make the same mistakes again.
