Liner Notes
Serene says: Rich sent me this gorgeous guitar track a very long time ago and I'm ashamed to say I sat on it for aaaages.. It was so beautiful I was scared to mess it up. Fortunately Rich gave me a nudge this fawm to get it done! It always feels hard to come up with original lyrics, especially on themes that have been done before, but I'm really happy with what we've created. thanks Rich!
Richaaaay says: It was worth the wait...Thank you for the gift 💕
Lyrics
Verse
There are days that will vanish in a blink Minutes that feel like hours Time is a treacherous thing And now I’m old
Pre chorus
All that we have is the now The joy and the pain and the sorrow I’ll hold it all in my hands
Chorus
I will feel everything Cry to ease the pain Love like it’s my last remaining Breath, there is only this moment
Verse
And it’s not an easy ask There are things that I can’t control When all the odds have been stacked And now I know
Pre chorus
That all that we have is the now, The joy and the pain and the sorrow I’ll hold it all in my hands
Chorus
I will feel everything Cry to ease the pain Love like it’s my last remaining Breath, there is only this moment

This is a stunning vocal. Beautiful, sweet melody and lyric too. Wonderful harmonies too, and that gentle, lovely guitar playing is the ideal accompaniment for this gem of a song. I love it through and through.
Well..this may have taken some time to mature.like a fine wine. But the fine guitar playing and fine vocals and well crafted lyrics make this a classic. I like how the vocal continue to sing as the guitar has small sections of call -response.. not sure of the correct musical term?? The opening lines in the first verse are so true, especially as we ger older..well done. A delightful song.
i like the descending notes of the guitar melody and how he melody flies above it in a near monotone that does not conflict with the melody below,
One of my very favorite songs is Thanksgiving Eve by Bob Franke. This feels like that song if Joni Mitchell had cowritten in and sang the results. Just so beautiful and tender and hopeful in spite of it all.
Really impressive how this can be so full sounding with such a spare arrangement. It doesn't need anything more. Beautiful guitar work, and a really nice vocal paired with it. They feel emotionally in lockstep, which is to say both feel accepting of a reality that cannot be changed. Or maybe I'm just feeling that because of the lyrics. Whatever the reason, everything comes together and supports everything else in a really coherent way. Really nice work.
@richaaaay @serene what a beautiful pairing of two truly engaged artists. Serene the lyrics became one with your voice, reflecting the realities of having lived long enough to truly feel its impact on the human being. For me, the pre-chorus was the gem of it all:
"The joy and the pain and the sorrow
I’ll hold it all in my hands" what a loving way to to cradle it all.
Rich..what can I say. You created the perfect palette for Serene to dance with. There's a quiet joy and lightness in your playing that is so comforting and peace giving. Especially love the chord changes for the chorus. Gorgeous!
Wonderful collab you two!
Ooh this is really lovely. Those great guitar licks and runs. Serene’s vocals are especially good in this one. Those high notes. Wow. (Joni Mitchell eat your heart out). Love the double vocal bit. The lyrics are poetic and stand alone. Superb collab! Kudos.
This hits. @serene - Your lyrics speak to a theme I've definitely been feeling lately. Your delivery has a gentle urgency that commands the listener to stop and ask themselves how they're feeling in this moment. Your decision to add the space for a breath before you sang the last line of the chorus is word painting at it's finest. What a gorgeous voice. Bravo. @richaaaay - How you're able to capture such emotion in your playing is beyond me. There is a longing amidst the hope to carry on in your picking, almost as if you knew what the song was going to be about. Great song you two!
That guitar riff is so lovely—I can see why Serene was afraid of spoiling it, but instead she created gorgeous timely and timeless vocals and lyrics that have me tearing up at my kitchen table as I listen.
So sweet and poignant.
Well done, folks! Superb.
This feels timeless. Beautiful vocals and guitar throughout. Loving the emotive delivery of the chorus!
Oh my goodness - this is just divine! I just love the clear, laidback guitar and the vocals are jawdroppingly stunning. Such a treat to hear you two!
Smooth and killer guitar playing! So glad to hear that this collab happened. The way the melody intertwines with the guitar part sounds very, very good. And gorgeous vocals as well. What a great collab!
I justlistened… That was it… just listened Let it wash over me, not thinking of the lyrics or what’s being playedjust being in the sound of the music and such such a beautiful voice… what a wonderful composition and performance
That IS a lovely guitar riff--and what a vocal you've put over it! I don't think I've come across one of your vocals recently, just gorgeous! Great collaboration, you two! ❤️
I believe beautiful is the best way that I can describe this. The chorus is so strong and @serene you deliver it with so much conviction and feeling. It definitely haunts me even after the track is over. @richaaaay - once again, your understated personae shines though in your arrangement. Cool. Classy. Easy-going. And with lots and lots gravitas that is so restrained. Y'all this is a gem.
Lovely, especially the chorus!!
What I love about FAWM is you get this regular stream of collaborations between people you think are amazing. And then every once in a while you hit play and it’s that, but also several levels above that. This is SUCH a great song guys, like… you’ve written a classic. I think having a strong melodic hook on the guitar is one the reasons for this. Beautifully played (and the little descending run you sneak in there too, wow!). The words just make me want to sob, but in a half-happy way, you’ve basically captured the paradox of love and time. That’s pretty heavy stuff. Then Serene’s breathy delivery is the cherry on top. Sorry if that all seems a bit gushing, but this one has genuinely floored me. Props to both of you!
Beautiful singing, guitar playing and riffs, and lyrics. Enjoyed listening. Awesome collab! Congrats!
love that extreme swing feel of the vocal... like the double dotted rhythm of old. it sits nicely with the smooth groove of the guitar and creates a beautiful tension and bond between both of your parts. oooh harmonies too, beautiful. aw over too soon. gorgeous collab!
Stunning! I love those descending riffs you are doing Rich. The lyrics and performance are fantastic. I especially dig the pause before "breath" in the chorus. Very cool effect. Great song y'all!
This is great. Nice and simple with just beautiful guitar and great vocals. Nicely done with the lyrics. Great collab.
Well I so recognise that first verse! Yup all we are sure we have is now, well said! So use it wisely! Beautiful delivery of a really nice guitar track. Nice collab
The way the vocals and lead guitar weave around each other is really well done—they complement each other beautifully without stepping on one another. The chorus hits especially hard with that fullness. Really gorgeous track!
Beautiful. You two are magic. Every time I listen to your collabs I come away wondering why you aren't on a stage somewhere performing in front of thousands of adoring fans.
Great interaction between the guitar and vocal in the verses. Each element is able to get a moment in the sun without a hint of conflict between them. And when they come together in the chorus it is spine tingling. And an extra jolt when Serene takes the breath before saying "breath". Superb work all around!
yes, wonderful vocal that you’ve managed to weave in and out of the sweet guitar to create a beautiful tune. here and now, we hear ya!
