Lyrics
Sun starts to peeking out Above the roofs of the houses across the way Warm spring morning with a pastel watercolor sky Shaping up to be a lovely Saturday
I suspect I’ll need to get some honey-dos done But right now I’m just gonna be a ol’ bump on a log So if you don’t mind I’ll just kick back here for a bit Sit on the porch and drink coffee with the dogs
Days consistently getting shorter and shorter Time’s just racing by too fast Rat races are for rats, I’ve lost my appetite for cheese Better make these special moments last
This getting older crap is kinda for the birds Daily grind just turns into a slog Dig out my old guitar and write myself a tune And sit on the porch and drink coffee with the dogs
Sit on the porch and drink coffee with the dogs

This is a charmer. Good lyrics well sung, and that guitar sets a great mood.
Beautiful guitar.I like the story and the feels here. I know that’s a lot of what I do put into a song.
It's uncanny how you managed to sound like you're just having a conversation with somebody or maybe just with yourself, but doing that with a subtle top line melody that's sort of just accidentally on purpose blended perfectly with some beautiful acoustic picking. Not sure I've ever heard anyone do such an artful trick any better than this. It's absolutely charming and made my listening day. Applause.
You had me at dogs. Really lovely guitar tone you got here! Love your vocals too.
Very classy - great sound, well played, and such a catchy tag line.
Yes - I agree with @richaaaay - such a nice song that highlights your guitar and vocal chops. Wow - what a lovely song with a message that is so relatable. Wonderful to hear this acoustic gem.
So glad I clicked on this song. Thoroughly enjoying this stripped back version of a song. Your musical talents are so impressive. To hear you with just a guitar and your voice is a treat. As much as I like your full productions, I really like this. You play guitar well and your vocals sound great. Just a nice song with a relatable message…
Your guitar playing is great! So many hidden links here and there. I like the metaphor of drinking coffee with the dogs. This is so calm and pensive. But if getting older means losing appetite for cheese I don't want to.
Lovely mood and there's something very relaxing to the lyrics as well: I like this "screw it all, just enjoy life while you can" attitude.
This is so grassroots and homely - I love it. Honey-do’s made me think of a to-do list written by your significant other. Great words, guitars and vibes. Like a warm hug on a cold day. Now I want to sit and drink coffee with the dogs.
they say you should write about what you know. well, from what i know about you, coffee and dogs are not only what you know, but what you love..so this is ideal material. you make an excellent picture of a guy sitting on the porch with a dog, drinking coffee. but you go further than this, with some stellar guitar picking and a line ill think about for a long while......"rat races are for rats, i’ve lost my appetite for cheese"
Believe it or not, I'm listening while drinking coffee, with Mr Collie sprawled at my feet. Really lovely guitar picking and sound, and I love how you paint specific vivid images to convey the more philosophical musings.
Rat races are for rats and I’ve lost my appetite for cheese! That’s worth the entrance fee alone! Yup make the special moments last! Well said and done.
Sounds great! Sitting on the porch drinking coffee with the dogs sounds like the life to me! The guitar and vocals sound great! Well done!
crossovers in the beginning with the acapella song challenge song i did lyrics for Drawing Near. (https://write.fawm.org/songs/314599) i like the thread that runs through song/life, yeah i totally get that kinda reflection. Lovely performance too. nice one!
