Lay Down (A Lullaby)
Skirmish: Peace (@ajna1960) Challenge: PERSONAL SOUNDTRACKLiner Notes
I started with my Idiopan tongue drum, added just a bit of base, and then some background vocals, and finally words. And now I shall do as I instruct, and lay down and sleep.
Lyrics
Lay Down Deirdre M Murphy
Lay down, It’s time to rest It’s time to dream Of what you love best
Lay down It’s time to heal To relax your body Time to just feel
Lay down, It’s time to dream It’s time to remember You’re more than you seem
Lay down It’s time to sleep To escape your worries It’s time to dream deep
Lay down Until morning’s dawn After you’ve rested You can move along

This was very soothing and I am a sucker for a good lullaby! Nicely done! - Natalie
Oooh, how mysterious and atmospheric! I love the floaty feeling of this. In my headphones I really felt like the drums and your voice(s) were all around me.
Very good and eerie! I am enchanted and impressed by how good you are and proficient at using harmonies and instruments: You certainly have your own voce and style! Beautiful !
This is awesome! Spooky but soothing!
Ooh this is so lovely. So evocative and smooth.
Very relaxing and indeed very meditative. Really enjoyed this. Good skirmishing
Great use of the tongue drum, I really like this melody, it is very relaxing. The elongated vocals and the upper register are very ethereal. I feel very sleepy...
So peaceful and meditative. I love the tongue drum tones and your gorgeous vocal layers that seem to float above. And what a caring and nurturing message. Thank you!
You posted this at the perfect time for me, it’s nearly 1am and i definitely need this advice. Your voice is so beautiful, in every layer, and the drum is magical. Slowing right down is often hard, musically and in life, and you’ve nailed both in this one
Top lullaby this one! The combination of the high wordless voice and the lower lyric one carries beautifully over the almost-hum of the tonguey-thing. Good lullaby words to gently close down with hope for the morrow (joy comes with the morning)
