Last Time Now

Liner Notes

@kristian: I have always been a musical nut... so when I got randomcollabed with beacon and he asked "Do a song like Anthem from Chess perhaps?" I was like... HELL YEAH! So I sent him a basic piano track and... to be honest, this was kinda close to not happening.. but it did happen... eat your heart out Webber! Oh.. and sorry for cutting it short, but I am actually out of time .. sorry for not making it longer Ken!

@beacon: When I was put together with Kristian and I heard some of his stuff, and other people were saying "You got put in a Random Collab with Kristian? You lucky dog!" Hearing this I am completely blown away.

When I heard Kristian's backup track, I was envisioning the lead of a show contemplating having to leave everything he ever knew and loved behind at the end of Act One, and so wrote the lyrics. Kristen made me sound like I had a full Broadway orchestra behind me. This was amazing, and I'd love to do another one of these when we have more time (sorry my illnesses got in the way!)

Lyrics

This night won’t be so lonely Even as I stand her solely Ever present, ever holy In the mem’ry

This day will bring an ending Of a longing, long descending Heart and mind forever blending In the reverie now

I stand apart Before the abyss Wondering where my next step will lead me

The past is past Don’t know where I will fit I’ve got to leave and say my goodbyes

This ending brings a new start As I set my past to depart And deposit here my own heart For the last time now.

Love this Broadway style song! What a gorgeous composition. Gorgeous backup tracks, vocals, lyrics, everything! I especially love the last stanza. ♥️

@nadine

Finally, @beacon got the role in the broadway. Thanks for making it happen @kristian. I always told him he has the vocal quality for this and you got the production chops. No idea how you crated this BIG orchestra.

yep sounds great and a great musical theatre arrangement and performance. definitely nailed the style between you both!

Wow! This is epic - great orchestration from Kristian, the harmonies are beautiful and absolutely spot on - I hope you will write the musical now - great lyrics as well. Love it (@beacon #tit4tat)

Utterly magnificent.... sounds like it could, no SHOULD, be performed on stage.

The lyrics, the vocal delivery, the wonderful music - absolutely 'eat your heart out Webber "

Wow!! This is so beautiful. Bravo you two! This is a spectacular Broadway tune. Wonderfully written, produced, and performed. Standing ovation.

@ryuu

Nailed the musical vibe here. Beautiful orchestration. The more staccato arrangement in the middle caught my ear - nice contrast there.

Absolutely gorgeous. You both created a very beautiful, inspirational and fantastic theatre / stage song. It is such a pleasure to listen to your song and collaboration. I feel like being in a theatre and I would love to hear more. Thank you both very much. Love the lyrics, music, vocals, amazing playing and instrumentation. Radio ready and movie ready.

@opossum

This is as awesome as a possum (and that's really awesome!) Superb singin' that makes me wanna go see a broadway play! There's a whole bunch of angels that jes wish they could sing so beautifully! And that music track is more than a little incredibly amazing! As a simple marsupial I cannot even begin to imagine how ya created all of that! I jes know it is super-dee-duper! The lyrics are excellent as well. I'm outta words to describe how cool this is. I guess I'll jes say...I LOVED IT! #tit4tat

Great to see a little FAWM muscle flexing here, and diving into diva territory with the big finale. Strangely I'm not thinking show tunes here, I'm thinking sync. Really powerful vocal, beautiful arrangement.

@ragbag

Love the rise into the ending. Nailed the genre. Was a bit shorter than I'd have liked - it left me wanting to hear more - is the full musical on the cards? Bravo :-)

Wowza! This is absolutely astounding, you two. I feel so hopeful and inspired and like I am in a dark theater watching the main character in the spotlight just before they embark on a long journey. Fantastic stuff!

[avatar]

Please Please write us something from Act 2 ??? This is show tune tastic. The orchestration is on point and the lyrics and vocal delivery is pure Broadway, Ken!

@cts

Eat your heart out Webber and practically ANY Disney tune (and I don't sleep on them, either. They can be pretty epic by my estimation). Short and to the point and very grand. It certainly caught my attention readily and just...wow. It's too bad FAWM is ending soon...

@analogj

Gorgeous anthemic song. Bravo!

By the way, Chess was written by Benny Andersson and Björn Ulvaeus of ABBA. It's got a great score!

Incredible work. I'm throwing my flowers at the computer screen, but nothing's happening

@gm7

This is classic guys. I feel as if i am in the balcony seats at a NY theater! Bravo! Bravo

@oddbod

Bring it on

@judypie

Wicked beans! Feels like you dropped me right in Les Mis!

[avatar]

Okay - you have a huge problem. Now you have to write the rest of the play, music and all, to give this wonderful piece of theatre a place to live. Når er åpningskvelden?

[avatar]

This is phenomenal! I love the gorgeous lyrics and the orchestral music is wonderful. The vocals are absolutely incredible!!! I love this sound!

@andrea

Wow, this is so powerful. What a scene this makes. The music is brilliant and the vocals gorgeous. Bravo!

[avatar]

Class in all facets, when is opening night. can I have a back stage pass. this is really good

[avatar]

Beautiful vocals and lush backing. A great collab. When does the show come to St. Louis? I need to buy my tix.

[avatar]

Oh my goodness, this is a match that was meant to be! What fantastic orchestration by Kristian, a perfect setting for Ken's Broadway-ready vocal. Bittersweet to be hearing a "goodbye" song, but in FAWM as in the theater, often those closing numbers are the best. Ever present, ever holy.

[avatar]

This is glorious. Great work, both of you!

@edwinb

Definitely feeling like I'm at a Broadway show now! I just have to wonder what happens in Act Two? This is really nicely put together, well done both!

@aeye

Man you all knocked this out of the park. This is fantastic

@fantex

It's amazing how many different styles pop up on FAWM. I like the songs from a good musical, Les Misérables, Grease etc. This would fit right in to some big production musical. * I had to go listen to Anthem from Chess. What DAW did you use?
