I meant to mention this during FAWM, but President Benjamin Harrison was gifted two possums, which were intended for stew. His family ended up keeping them and naming them Mr. Reciprocity and Mr. Protection. I'm sure there's a song in there. Maybe next FAWM!

Thank you very much for my virtual faithful pig - I shall treasure him!

Let's hang out in the country my friend!! I'll bring almonds and peanuts, you bring grub and...bugs?! ewwwww I wrote the song about Aesop's Fable The Town Mouse and the Country Mouse. Being a town mouse wasn't for me!!

You be nice to my "speshal" country mouse, Opossum!!! LOL <3

Thanks for the comment (on "Barking At Dogs"). My singing isn't outstanding unfortunately ... probably why it doesn't feature on this song! ๐Ÿ™‚

This one is all vocal synths: I use Vocaloid. It's very much like Synth V in use (you capture lyrics and melodies; it 'plays' the sound) ... and has the same frailties, not least their sonic appeal! Personally, I quite like their formant glitchiness; Mrs H thinks they're "wailing banshees".

Hi Ray, I am sorry for your loss. Yes it was had getting through writing this song and then singing it to where I was comfortable. I decided to leave the choking of my voice in it. After I heard it. I started to cry when I heard it, too. I do try to put feeling into my songs, sometime too much. Thank you for your kind words. Btw, I started to write more comedy song again thanks to listen to your as an inspiration. :) And as for the morning shows, I could not get through the song again. It took several tries just to get this recorded....

I just wanted to say I really enjoyed listening to your music. If you have lost pet 'a best friend" I written this one you may like. my wife has been after me to write this song. We lost our best friend. My dog of 17 years. Its taken me a while to be able to sing it, even with a lump in my throught I got through it. Let me know what you think. Have a cleanX next to you. https://write.fawm.org/songs/317097

Well now..... I have listen to several of your songs Mr. Opossum and I have concluded that you and your family are one hell of a weird passel! You can speak your mind without hesitation, mourn your family, albeit briefly and can easily make up the loss in no more that 4 or 5 months..truly astounding. Your family tree is taller that a Colorado pine and so are your lies, err I mean stories! But the best thing is that you honor your family history in song and that is a great tribute. I still can't figure out how those little fingers play the banjo so darn well?!

Re: Pantlers; there are a lot of deer living in the woods around here. I've been approaching them to ask if they are interested in an exciting franchise opportunity, but they keep running away. Will keep you updated.

You know, I was a little apprehensive when I found out that the opossums' range was expanding and that we would be seeing more of you folks moving into Southern Ontario, but after hearing your music I now welcome our new addition to the local environment. If you are anything to go by, opossums seem to be silly and friendly animals, so the first one I see I'm gonna go right up and pick it up and give it a nice long snuggle. I'm sure that will go over well, right?!?

Look who I found in the attic. That little stinker is back!

Even as a little girl growing up in the country cornfields of Oh-hi-ya I loved opossums! You eat the slugs and keep the gardens clean :) I hope you have a lovely songwriting season dumpster-diving rascal.
