Slip, Slide

Liner Notes

Our yearly #jazz collab. Done with #guitar this year. And of course #upright-bass.

Lyrics

Trying not to Slip and fall On the icy sidewalks

The snow we've had is Now all Slush and muck with ice

I cannot wait For this rain For the walk to clear

To get around Without stumbling I must say would be nice

Slip, Slide

To get around Without stumbling I must say would be nice

Slip, Slide So it goes Slip, Slide Icy roads Slip, Slide Icy roads

Very cool bass playing behind all that great jazzy guitar! Lyrically, a very common theme here in the northeast winter!

This is so very cool and keeps my ears well-engaged in the song! I'll definitely watch for this annual jazz collab in the future. My husband says it's par for the course to slip on the ice in Manitoba...happens to everyone sometime. But it's pretty nice to live without the fear of it, most of the time.

Jazzy as jazz gets! Absolutely amazing musicianship on this one. I am blown away by the guitar playing.

@aeye

that was so slick. I felt like I was just gliding along with the song.

Delightful to listen to. Great picking with a big, mellow sound (hollow body?). I really like how the rhythms, the snare fills, and the phrasing of 'slip, slide' give a musical sense of walking gingerly, almost losing your footing and recovering, and tip-toeing ahead. Very fun collab.

Wow I just love the jazz guitar! Wish I could play something like that. The drums and double bass give it a great touch. I'm ways haply to hear @metalfoot on jazz and swing. Such a different vocal style and it works.
