So i wrote a rough guitar and vocal without words apart from the I fell bit. when i wrote it was feeling into some tough times this last year and when it came to writing the lyrics i tried to be as blatently honest as i could, and really its a little message to allow all emotions to flow good or bad to reach new brightness. Anyway, i sent the rough demo to Tanya as it needed some lovely high harmonies, but also for her to write words or add anything else to she liked, but she came back to me and said she loved the sentiment of I fell, so suggested i carry on creating and she can then add some harmonies which i was overjoyed with. So she whizzed them on over and I am beyond grateful for her gorgeous high vocal line . I knew from the start it needed those and i could never have done them justice so huge thanks to amazing tanya for finding the time to squeeze this in for me.

My body rigid with pretence shrinking a soul that lies within i wept to try and reach the truth in my minds eye For my body, this is a test every step, we see that every joker lies every joker lies Inside despise

So wisdom, comes with every fail New seeds, make a brand new tale so bring, that fear inside for a warm cup of tea The body, knows the head has spent many years, making that lonely joker lie but now that joker cries then inside realigns

The high harmonies add so much tenderness to the broken feeling of the song. The emotions float along on the tone of both your voices in a way that wraps up the words and in some way sets them aside a little. Like making sense of it all can only come after you finish feeling these feelings. Great collaboration.

the lyrics are poignant. I LOVE all the harmonies, especially after the first 'ooo'. I like how clever it is to keep bring that line 'every joker lies' and repeated here and there and then turned to 'not that joker cries.. then inside realigns'. what a great collab!

What an opening. That atmospheric guitar with the pad sound in the background leading up to those words "I fell..." It hits just right. The vocals sound so good and the sparse lyrics are sonically perfect. Oh, here come those high harmonies...Beautiful...I quite like the dynamic change that comes after "now that joker cries" at about 2:40. The instrumental bit with the Tanya's high harmonies. The piano is a great addition there. Just a wonderful and enjoyable listen...Fantastic!

I really love the introspective reflection in the lyric - there is such a wonderfully intimacy and vulnerability expressed as well as an emotive relatable quality. Beautifully poetic and gorgeously expressed with your vocals - I love the layers and the harmonies. The high voice backing is so lovely.

This is so sweet. I really like how you surprise us with those unexpected minor chords switching things up. The piano in this is lovely too. This has such a sad but lovely lyric and melody. A very enjoyable listen overall.
