heh. I just made up fake Irish sounding names for three ambient instrumentals, then swapped out the classic electric piano for a Wurlitzer Wide Suitcase electric piano in the new versions . . . I need good ambient stuff to help me nap since I don't sleep well anymore, and just like I wrote the mysteries I wanted to read 'cause I couldn't find them . . .

Can you tell me more about this lyric? Is it set in a particular time/place in history? Who are these mysterious sentinels in red and gray? Why has he gone away in such a hurry?

As to an ‘all-collab’ FAWM well… I really did bite off more than I could chew. It’s been both incredibly stimulating/challenging and frustrating as I’ve had no time to just sit with my instrument and explore my own thoughts. Maybe this will be the one year I write a bit in March too, just so I get to pick up my tenor guitar at least once! New rule next year. Only 3 collabs at a time.

Just here to say I tried to come up with 3 min of bass for you repeatedly. I have decided that this is not a way for me to co-write. I never start a song with a bassline unless it's intended to be a solo piece. Even then my bass lines ideas are driven by a melody and/or lyric idea that arrives first. If I try to just write a bass part it always ends up as a string of cliches. So it looks like it isn't to be this year.

great to discover this morning that you're back here!....... and in a year where nothing is happening, when its so business as usual in the world (irony alert!). even if you got a late start, you've done some great stuff already. By the way, tho I won't be exactly in your neck of the woods in March, I will be closer- me and two friends (both like me longtime NY'ers) will be in, of all places, Tulsa Oklahoma near the end of March to see a certain Bobby D start his concert tour (and to check out the museum for him and for woody guthrie which are both in tulsa). Should be easy to spot us, we'll be the ones looking for a bagel with a schmear or at least an egg cream! :)

I gotta tell you that last Spring I did three months of Fretboard Confidential. It was so good; I learned a ton. There was so much to work on technique wise, it was a gift. I do plan to dive back in when the time is right. That said, I'm using, and practicing, what I've learned every day. Pretty sure all my short tunes this year have your fingerprints all over them...Looking forward to hearing more of your music. I jump at the chance to listen...
