One take on electric, in open C tuning (CGCGCE). Then one overdub on the National (in the same C tuning). No planning. Here's what happened.

Just awesome bro, you sure have a magic touch... Ry Cooder is eating his hat right now. I love this and it inspires me to try some electric. How absolutely sweet..

Yes! Yes! Yes! Who needs a plan when it comes out as warm, soulful and beautiful as this. I’m walking off into the sunset wading in the C tuning. I need to try more open tunings in my life.

Those are sure some hats full of character. There is a beautiful sense of space in this piece. That air of curious exploration, yet always remaining in control of one’s instrument - extraordinary!

Lovely. It’s so satisfying when an unplanned recording comes off like this. Very enjoyable listen.

Ah! What a lovely way to finish up the month. Lazy and sweet. You have such a great sense of narrative structure and dynamics in your instrumentals. I love all those different textures and timbres blending too. Great stuff.

This is some wonderful chillin' music that I could listen to for hours. I love this style of guitar playing. This piece is very soothing and calming. Thank you. I really enjoyed this.

What stands out here for me is the wandering pace at which this unfolds. I find myself with eyes closed, just taking it in (I did not type that with my eyes closed but I did listen through once with my eye closed). I’ve enjoyed listening to your instrumentals this year. It’s always such a pleasure. Be it songs with words or instrumentals, I don’t want to miss your posts. Congrats on getting it done, and your game on attitude.

I should add, I’m quite looking forward to hearing your collaboration with Liz.

Nice, Tom Waitsish...

I'm a firm believer in the title. Gentlemen or ladies, don them, please.

It's great when your unconscious knows where to go and what to do. Free; rubato, I think is the term. A strong feeling of 'it is what it is' and it is fine. Lovely and melodic. Wistful, but not sad.
