Liner Notes

#10x10 #fuc

Carley says: @ductapeguy hit me up in the slack chat in the waning hours of FAWM to see if I wanted to keep our #spontaneous-collab streak alive, and of course I said yes. When it came time to pick a topic, I said, "Things you say on the last day of FAWM," so we went with it. Hopped on a zoom call, grabbed our ukuleles, wrote and rehearsed for about 7 minutes, et voilà.

Sean says: Yay to another spontaneous Carley and Sean 10x10. Thanks Carley.

Lyrics

Carley: February 1st seems like yesterday But also 5 years ago Moves so fast And yet so slow Oh, what even is time?

Sean: Sleep is overrated I’ll dream in my songs I can stay awake till The bitter end of FAWM

Carley: Write one more Don’t write one more No, write one more Don’t write one more

So many stories to tell Before the closing bell

Sean: Oops, I forgot to write a nonet If there is time I will do it now I had a whole month why wait I could finish but how Other tunes wait Time for leaving Unwritten Ideas Here

Carley: I was away from the slack chat for 10 minutes And there are 8,437 new messages Mostly about cupcakes

Sean: I wanna write a song about easy shed Or some other FAWMish song like that I’ve plum run out of ideas Guess I have to check out the slack chat

Check out the slack chat Check out the slack chat. I could be writing songs But I’m sitting here all day, pressing refresh and playing word games In the slack chat

Carley: What rhymes with “obsequious”? What is my whole beef with this?

Sean: What makes a song a song? Do people have to sing along? What if there’s no words at all? Or you’re a derivative hippy ripping off the Wall? Or if you record a munchies fueled jam? Or write an ode about the virtues of Spam?

I don’t think you can get it wrong? Just sit down and write yourself a song.

Carley: Write a song, record a track 8 hours left, no going back Thank goodness it’s still February somewhere

Sean: (slothcore) FAAAAWWWWMSSSOVER FAAAAWWWWMSSSOVER FAAAAWWWWMSSSOVER

This is both fun and clever. Well done, you two.

Silly and fun and...silly...and...

...plus I learned what 10x10 is!

There's some nice moments in there and somehow it all hangs together. Nice creative spurt!

"Seek we us"?

This was a lot of fun, including the introductory and fade-out conversations.

@beto Mod

Aaaah, so cute! So many little gems here, all these precious tidbits of songs! So good!

@jonmeta

Oh wow! I was out in the fields with the dog this morning, put this song on, and wanted it to go on and on. If it had gone on for an hour I would have stayed out in the mud and rain listening. Such a cornucopia of familiar feelings and doings, and the interaction between you two is over the moon charming.

An absolute delight. Well played, both of you! This conveys the FAWM experience so eloquently. It gels 100% with my experience and I can confirm for non-Slack listeners that the point about stepping away from Slack for ten minutes is entirely accurate.

@sapient

I relate SO HARD to this! Well done both of you. And as for number 5, imagine what it's like coming back to Slack after 7 hours when I've been asleep... 😬

What @robynmackenzie said. This is so much fun, and brings back so many memories.....about cupcakes.

What a great collab idea…A spontaneous write! Such a fun idea. Great topic too. So much you can say on this subject. But…what's a slack chat? Is it part of FAWM?

[avatar]

This. Is. AWESOME. So many references here. I grinned and giggled the whole way through. So so good.

[avatar]

"Whole beef with this?" hahaha amazing! Such a cool collab but you both have enough material to have two separate songs. But still, I do like the back and forth. I can totally relate to every single line. Except the slack chat. there's a slack chat? maybe next year. . . thanks for writing this one!
