Celebration March 01, 2025 https://johnstaplesmusic.com/FAWM2025/JohnStaples-Celebration.mp3
It's dark out my window there's frost in the air I sit all alone and I really don't care
my heart's full of music my brain's turned to mush I'll squeeze one more song out and then I will hush
it's a real celebration a song iteration self isolation spouse separation it's my aspiration but not my vocation a true celebration and soon relaxation
my cats are asleep they've grown tired of neglect I did clean their litter and fed them; I checked!
my wife is dozing a gentle sweet snore and after this song I will write nothing more
it's a real celebration a song iteration self isolation spouse separation it's my aspiration but not my vocation a true celebration and soon relaxation
4:30 in the morning with a song almost done this whole dog gone month was a whole lotta fun
I can't count my chickens cause I'm just not done yet I look forward to meeting my wife and my pets
it's a real celebration a song iteration self isolation spouse separation it's my aspiration but not my vocation a real celebration and soon relaxation

That chorus speaks volumes. I totally connect with it, as I'm sure many here do. A wonderful depiction of the FAWMER's experience in an easy-going lovey melody. Time to get back to those that need and want us. We will wait to meet again next year. Cheers!
nice easy flowing song! you need at least one of these anyway! every set needs this type of song to break things up. it really nice and a tribute as well.
Great! Love the lyrics and your voice! Great job!
It wasn’t planned, but this is my 200th song commented on. And what a perfect reflection of February in a nutshell. Enjoy your relaxation and time with your wife! See you next year
A GREAT way to end FAWM! I really like the rolling guitar picking, it conveys tiredness and yet also a sense of achievement. Thanks for this!
Oh John yay for a classic ending acoustic piece of magic . I think we all feel very similar . Honestly matey this is a piece of truly unique special folk music because whilst it has all your talented traits in the vocals and guitar plucking , what elevates it for me to a new and brilliant level is the unexpected chord movements in the chorus . Omg and that chorus so so so bloody catchy . John thank you for being a true gent and a bloody awesome artist . Wooohoooooo let’s celebrate 🥳
This is lovely and funny at the same time! That's an impressive list of "-ation" rhymes... At the beginning I copied a stanza that I was going to say is my favorite but you keep topping yourself and now I'm just going to have to say that the whole damn thing is brilliant. I love the bits about your cats and also just reacquainting yourself with your family and pets hahaha. And it sounds like such a beautiful serious song! Gorgeous guitar and the melody line is so nice. #tit4tat
I like this one. It's got a lovely laid-bck feel. I'm also pleased to find someone else leaning into the rhyming!
I love the '-ation' rhymes: creative and real. 'Spouse separation' - ha! Beautiful guitar sound. Your voice is very soothing. A lovely finish to the month. PS Cats are more independent, I guess. But my dog got used to going in the music room with me: dozing while I played, or sometimes singing along, and always letting me know when it was time for a break.
Phew! Glad you checked on the cats. Perfect song for the end of FAWM - I was with you all the way on this one - glad you managed to squeeze one last song out!. Absolutely love the chorus - nice clever play on words - and I love the line "I'll squeeze one more line out and then I will hush". Good vocals and guitar playing. (My second song choice in response to your #tit4tat)
This is so real - you wrapped it up so perfectly, and made it fun. and so many rhymes too - it's brilliant, and at 4.10 in the morning! I'm in awe! It was nearly midnight for us, and I had 15 minutes to write - so I just wrote - thank you for putting some of those last scraps of energy to commenting on my poured out celebration too. And for your great welcoming/ keep going encouragement 😄 It's been nice sharing skirmishes :)
Oh my, John! We've all walked in these shoes this month and you've captured the details that have made up all our 28 days of creation. I trust that you'll continue to write songs in the next eleven months, although not at the same pace. Well done!
Love your song John! Smiled all the way. A month in the life of a Fawmster, told in the moment. Go feed your cats and your chickens and spend time with your wife! (and I'll do the same - 'cept I don't have chickens lol) See you next year, Cheers
LOL! Bravo! You deserve your celebration! This is a lovely outro, heartfelt and funny all at the same time. I definitely identify with all of it.
I suspect this applies to many, many FAWMers. Well done, John. Nice song. I hope you have a very relaxing March!
Wonderful guitar, and a fine FAWM finish ballad! Hold on, it looks you did another song after this too!
This song rings true, I think, for so many of us here... It made me happy to realise that I'm not the only one who has kind of put their lives on hold to do this -- I laughed out loud at "spouse separation" ! But what appeals to me most (aside from your excellent country voice and the way you sing "doggone") is that it's a lullaby!! I've spent most of my first song-free day dozing off and on, and this gentle song is just the tonic! Well done!
So heartfelt! “I’ll squeeze one more song out and then I will hush.” My problem is how do I turn it off after FAWM? Too funny about the cats - lol!
Most cool outro song!! Love the fingerpicked guitar... you have always excelled ot that!!! I remember back in the 80's I was amazed at how smooth you were at fingerpicking!! The melody here is so catchy, the lyrics are perfect... You da lyric man!!! Great tune, great FAWM... Congrats!!
John! Your voice sounds better than ever here. And I'm just in awe at your advanced chorus rhyming schemes at 4:10 in the morning haha. And they're all spot on after this month. Between work and music I have neglected everything/everyone else. Looking forward to finally catching up on listening! I hope you got some rest :-)
An excellent meta song on which to close FAWM. (Hasn't it been an amazing month?) And my spouse agrees with the "spouse separation" phrase! (I also like what you do melodically on the chorus.) I like the "I checked" after feeding the cat, and "I can't count my chickens/cause I'm just not done yet?
What a voice! And so much fun. But a little sad, maybe too much self-doubt and beration about your "aspiration" - you're doing it! Even if it's not your vocation, it's valid relaxation and soul respiration - but rest and life is good in the mix! ☺️🙏
“Spouse separation” hahaha All the other -ations are more than true Nice one for the finish line !
Oh what fun and funny song! Real true:spouse separation: hubby had to cook his own lunch while I squeeze my last one out! Love you style, voice, guitar playing. What a masterpiece for a Skirmish!
This is fabulous! It is a perfect end of FAWM celebration song! I love the little relatable details! So many fun rhymes! Gorgeous delivery!!!
Aw John, this is really great! It’s a very inspired 4am song, and say hello to the kitties for me!
That "Oh yeah!" sounded really heartfelt and content. 😄 This is the kind of quiet celebration by yourself with a mug of coffee or tea or a glass of whiskey, which is nevertheless very joyful.
Great! Love it! Everything! Also a nice variation are the words that keep comming. Nice heartfelt vocals.
You'd get a prize from me! I love this!!! Ohhh yeah!
The -ation words in the chorus are great. What a perfect song to find in the last hours of FAWM… accurate in so many ways. 🙌🎶
