Pêle-Mêle (mixed feelings)

Liner Notes
I spent the day fixing my recording setup. Note that on my to-do-before-fawm-list. Tired, bored and angry, I finally got to make a microphone word on my DAW. Did this little comfort tune and it felt a relief.

This has a rather medieval feel which I really like.
The modal harmonies suit the title well. I love the angular strumming and the little bits of low melody on the guitar.
Love that this sounds like it was recorded on an old phonograph. Lovely stuff.
That lydian mode is hitting the spot! I really enjoy the careful back and forth between the harmonica and the guitar.. there is a lovely contrast between the slower swells and the insistent picking on the guitar. A beautiful melancholy you've painted here.
This is such a beautiful piece of music - are you going to try all the colours in the 12 bar spectrum. Love this!
This is gorgeous, right up there with the best, IMHO. Good job, Ambroise!
This calmed me down as I was trying to do too many things at once. What a gentle soothing feeling. Merci!
I really love that song, so soothing. ♥
This song is what I would assume bicycling through french country side would be like. Serene calm and perpetually in good but somber mood.
Love the title and great sounds in the 12barspurple. 😉 Guitar tone and harmonica have a great vibe that makes me feel I am listening to street musicians in a European street. 👏(Sorry that you had to spent the day fixing your recording set up! Never a fun chore.)
Very European sounding ditty. The harmonica is like a bird flying over a burbling stream. Guitar sounds great!
The link was on "last tune added" on my soundcloud... It's all back to normal now. Thanks !
De rien, monsieur! Et maintenant - mon critique! - ... Mais c'est tres jolie! Quelle surprise - Agreable malgre l’harmonica :) Non, c'etait une blague - il a besoin de la basse, comme toutes les chansons sans la basse! I promise not to review any more of your songs in my terrible French! j$
How lovely! What a great outcome of a long day of fixing technical gear. It puts me in the same place as Cesaria Evoras Songs from Kap Verde: windy and melancholic.
Calm and peaceful! I love the harmonica so very gentle here both instruments play together like two lovers … Beautiful!
Contemplative and whimsical! "Ponder" really does feel like the perfect adjective for it.
Cool song! I really enjoyed this one. There'a so much to ponder with a well-done song containing a harmonica, lol. Nice work!!
We’ve all put off fixing the setup. I feel your pain.
This came out cool. It has this surreal kinda air to it. Could be the main theme in a French heist movie…I’d watch the movie and buy the soundtrack! Very cool.
Hi, nice to hear you again. Such an evocative, beautiful instrumental - it meanders from wistful to precarious, it feels like it could spring off in any direction.
I love the sound you achieved here. At first I thought it was a regular country or bluegrass blues, but then the latin progression reveals itself, with the harmonica providing a little mournful songbird on top. Made the melancholy or even saudade texture / mood more interesting and delicate. It's a great start and I hope the equipment setup is now perfect for you because I can't wait to hear more.
Very pretty! I really like that there's a sort of "raw" sound to this, and the layers are lovely together.
Beautiful! The harmonica has a slightly loud high tone for an otherwise mellow mix, but this is still very lovely.
Ho ! C'est très beau et mélancolique. J'adore comment la plainte légère de l'harmonica s'intercale avec la guitare.
Wow. You can make stuff like that even when you are frustrated? That's impressive. It sounds so beautiful and relaxing.
Nice to see you here, Ambroise! This is a sunny sound.
That's so frustrating to have major tech issues when you just want to get started! At least you got a lovely song out of your frustration.
This is very sweet, so gentle and relaxing. Thank you 😄
I can picture myself sitting at a bistro table outside a cafe with a coffee and a pastry just watching the world go by with this playing on a little lo-fi transistor radio
