Spellbound

Liner Notes
This particular iPhone recording is a loose contemplative idea. There's some structure but it wanders as a stream of consciousness.

Oh man, its so good to get back to some of my favs in this listening month (2 weeks) i can't believe this is an iphone recording for starters. Its sounds so big in my speakers and the whole feel of that beautiful variety of guitaring reminds me of staring out at the sea in thailand, and dreaming of things to come . Superb stuff
Apologies for taking so long to catch up on your FAWMing, Rich; I'm wishing I'd listened to this one last weekend when I was on a nice sunny Devon coast. Incredibly peaceful and you're sounding so at one with your guitar here. Love that it's so free and flowing - Did you hit record with the structure already set out, or did you just let it take you where it wanted to go?
Lovely playing! Great job taking advantage of the tuning and laying enough of an engaging foundation to make the departures be complementary rather than distractions. Excellent composition and performance, Rich!
there is something about your playing that just slots right into the soul. you do more than play the notes and i Get It, it just sits Just Right
Amazing - very contemplative and restful. Sounds very good, great work with the alt tuning. Reminded me of sitting in a lawnchair at a festival that I used to go to. I enjoyed listening a lot.
This speaks to me. I have a story brewing that I might like to pursue. It is about reuniting with a loved one. Would you mind if I try some lyrics for this? It is simply beautiful!
Mmmm delectable guitar sound! So crisp and lovely! I love the vibrato, too!
This is so lovely. For some reason, it draws to mind summer days and walking down a country dirt road. We used to walk one to the beach every day, when I was a kid at our cottage in the Laurentians. Beautiful peaceful piece.
This is lovely. If I didn’t know, I never would have guessed it was an iPhone one take. Really good stuff!
Oh la la. I was in from the first notes. And if you hadn't said so, I'm not sure I would have realized it was a phone recording. This is killer! So expressive, loose in all the right ways, breathing room for days...Feels pretty dang composed to me!
Oh this is spectacularly gorgeous Rich! It’s got such a beautiful wandering and free feeling. It reminds me of my river walks.. which is where a lot of my songwriting inspiration comes from. What tuning is this?
This is pretty special. It reminds me of Keith Richards at his best on acoustic. I'm almost tempted to put words to it, but I've run out of time...
The entirety of this piece is a cosmic calm that has me watching the world go by in slow motion. I love how you can feel the stream of consciousness catch gold at the halfway mark.. to feel a conversation between the low melody call and the high answer is such a treat.
This piece had me spellbound. Just closed my eyes and let it wash over me. You could 100% use that main figure as the opening to some sort of americana effort. Loveliness.
Gorgeous! Feels very peaceful and meditative.
Oh you play beautifully. Such a lovely composition. Beautiful use of space also. The theme that repeats is so memorable. I really love it!
Excellent tune nicely performed. I marvel at people doing wonderful things with alternate tunings. For myself, retaining fingering in my mind for regular tuning is enough for me to consider. If I tried to work with a second tuning, I figure I'd end up trying to use alternate tuning fingering on a regular tuned guitar and regular fingering on the alternate tuned guitar. Guess I'm a one-trick pony.
