Saved the best for last

Liner Notes

A song for my boyfriend, who likes #dramatic music. I can't do dramatic music, but my album's theme meant I had to try, and I had to make it the last song of the month for a grand finale.

I think it's definitely a successful attempt. The hard part is doing the unsettling chords that make it dramatic. I usually tend to the more 'consonant' major chords, but I think I have a nice mix.

I wanted the last song of the month to be a full, non-rushed, serious entry, so I made it longer than my usual songs, even if that means there is a lot of repetition. I tried to do repeating sections in different keys each time and add other subtle differences.

You are free to suggest a better title though :)

I'm really happy with my album this year! Even though I didn't do many challenges, I did my own challenge [make every song relate to someone I know] and stuck with it to the end. Also, despite illness halfway, I made it to 14!

I get this sweet picture of a shy person coming out of their shell. The piano trill (not sure that is correct, or if I made it up) paints such a vibrant picture. I Iove the way it builds, then pulls back a bit. A fantastic composition. I love it! #tit4tat

Oh Yes, a lovely piece. The piano sounds stunning and the orchestral backing really adds to the atmosphere. A wonderful composition that sounds fantastic. #tit4tat

Ooh, hats off! This is lovely, delicate at times, swelling and uplifting at others. I was right there with you the whole way.

The orchestration here is fantastic, the piano just sets this apart, the frequent 'tinkle-tinkle-tinkle' makes me smile (in a good way!). This really could be part of a soundtrack. It is a long-ish song, but that won't stop me giving it another listen.

Wow, this is very pretty! I am loving the piano and the strings so much! You sound like you've got a whole orchestra right there in your studio! What a full, rich soundscape you've created!! And yes, this works well for the dramatic music genre! Very nice work here!! #tit4tat

Congratulations on 14! I’m really enjoying the piano here. This makes me think of a long, beautiful summer day with lots of time for dramatic make believe. #tit4tat

I think you do dramatic very well here. I could see this in a film - strangely bits of it remind me of old cartoons like tom and jerry - The lush strings are beautiful throughout. Have you thought of adding maybe a solo horn or cello as a counterpoint somewhere? It's beautiful as is though. :-) Once I've finished my #tit4tat obligations I'll come back to listen to some more of your lovely stuff. :-)

I love the build up! The piano is gorgeous. I can definitely feel the drama, and all its layers! The mixing gives everything nice space, this is the closest I've heard electronic strings sound to the real thing so big props to you for that! Very well composed!

Ohhhh, love the piano and those lush strings, it makes me want to go dance in a ball. This is legit, I love the interplay between all the different instruments, and the repetition is just the right amount to make it at the same time familiar and interesting, and not boring. Lovely, lovely, what a song! And congrats on the win!
