She Was a Beautiful Sight to Behold

Skirmish: Behold! (@jlampson)Liner Notes
I'm a little late, but I'm on the board. I loved this prompt! Thanks @jlampson :)
I know I will need to tweak this when I have more time, but I'm ok with how it turned out.
Lyrics
I was amazed As she took the stage A big bass drum upon her back Harmonica fixed on her flex harp rack Cymbals strapped between her knees Left arm securing a tambourine Sunburst acoustic in her hands She was a magical one-man band
I swayed with the music As it began to unfold I was under her spell She was in control She was a beautiful sight to behold She was the most beautiful sight to behold
Her long white hair Danced everywhere/ in the air With a soft gentle kiss The harmonica hummed through her lavender lips One two three the cymbals clanged With jingles and jangles the tambourine rained Every note strummed on her guitar Struck a chord within my heart
I swayed with the music Each note bright and bold/ solid gold I was under her spell She was in control She was a beautiful sight to behold She was the most beautiful sight to behold

@sp4cek4a3n has said everything I was gonna (complete with the word "phonemes" đ)! I loooove that line, so good to say out loud.
Such vivid imagery here, and nice little bits of wordplay. I'm especially fond of "Harmonica fixed on her flex harp rack." There's something about the phonemes in that line that are so delicious. A song that's a spell about a song that's a spell, love that.
Super evocation of this busker, full of telling detail.
Oh this is just brilliant - you paint such a vivid picture, great storytelling and your lyrics are so strong. So many lovely phrases - "sunburst accoustic in her hands" "the harmonica hummed through her lavender lips" "the tambourine rained". It feels as if lyric has been picked and finally chiselled to match the others perfectly. Great craftsmanship - I love it! Would love to hear it with music as well but it paints such an amazing scene it also stands along. #tit4tat
Wonderful storytelling in this.
And reading it through a couple of times, I too imagine the performer to be some kind of mythical being. I can see this working well as a folk song.
Really enjoyable to read.
I get the sense this is perhaps a fae performer, the way you mix the impressiveness of a one-woman band with language of magic, down to the double meaning of "She was in control".
Nice! Love the imagery and adoration for the one-WOman-band. đ¶
I am fascinated by people who can do this! For me singing and playing one instrument at the same time is all I can manage - these one-man bands just blow my mind. Awesome vivid imagery in your lyrics, Andrea! Just reading them makes me a little spell bound honestly! Now I am wondering if this is a real memory or something you so creatively created. Wonderful use of the prompt, and a great skirmish!!
Fabulous direction to go with the prompt. Itâs such a vivid description of something that is always something to behold! Great unfolding of words. Very nice flow tooâŠ
Such a vivid picture! I enjoyed this a lot!
This is beautiful and mystical! I'd love to make a production/sing this. I think I'd wanna make something folky to this, hmm
Creates quite the word picture! I can see her and hear her! Wonderful! Many Blessings!
This is a fantastically image-filled lyric! Should be lots of fun to produce! I'm impressed!
Great write! I can see and hear it all... love the pacing and meter, seems so easy to sing! Can't wait to hear one of your classic collabs!!
This is written beautifully. Such strong imagery I can really picture her.
Hi Andrea! Thank you for listening to my first song! What I really loved about this one is that first verse and the line "harmonica fixed on her flex harp rack." it just flows so well and rolls right off the tongue! Can't wait to see what else you come up with!
Love it Andrea! Itâs like an audible painting if that makes sense
Wow can't believe you wrote that during a skirmish. I can imagine that person very well. And thanks for talking about a woman :)
Gosh Andrea, this is lovely.
Nice writing! I can really envision it! đ€©
Fantastic picture youâve painted. One woman bands are cool. Great rhythmic feel, nice write.
Great lyrics. Got a Bobby Dylan feel. Thanks for your kind words on my song "Behold"
Love the cymbals and lavender lips.
What a picture you paint and I can just hear it! Wonderful Andrea!
Great lyric, rich in feeling and mood. Can picture this rock goddess!
This is some vivid description! I like the idea of being enthralled by a stage musicianâs look.
Oh, I'd love to see this act! You paint this picture so strongly with these words. Is it based on reality, or do you secretly dream of being her, I wonder...?
I am always amazed and more than a little surprised when a set of lyrics "paints" a vivid image in my brain but this one certainly did! You described her so well! And, as you describe each instrument, my brain played me a wee sample of it! Very clever take on the skirmish prompt!!
