Lyrics

Stay Go By Gary Ray Knowland

You'd better come inside Every moment that you're out there freezing I cry
Just like the times you came before Winds Blow Seems you always find the path to my front door Can't win Why do I ever let you in...

Please don't waste my time Tell me no more lies Don't bother saying what I need Just love me for a while And then be on your way There's nothing left for us to say

Do you know how long it's been? Do you think that I forget what happens? Tell me Why would I go through this again? Same game Why I play it I will surely never know More pain And still I can't turn you away

Please don't waste my time Tell me no more lies Don't bother saying what I need Just love me for a while And then be on your way There's nothing left for us to say

Never know when you will show Never know when you will leave me either Stay / Go? Until my world turns upside down Change comes Maybe I'm a different person than before My dime? Find shelter somewhere else next time

Love the guitar and the organ! Wow, that guitar solo. The lyrics are meaningful. The despiration speaks from it. #tit4tat

I love the 80's classic feel. Nice flow of the vocal melodies and the pain vibe clearly present. It's a theme that many can relate to on some level, be it on either end ;) The guitar totally rocks. Love the solo. I really enjoyed the listen. #tit4tat

A great groove, and commentary on a not uncommon situation. "Just love me for awhile", that resonates with me. Sometimes it's all we want, even when we know the relationship is at its end. Great production. I really enjoyed it.

Lovely groovy song, so much energy. All instruments contribute to the allround hectic-ness and uncontrolled all-brakes-loose energy. Love how you gathered a whole crowd to sing the lyrics. The powerful singing is pretty great and really fits, the drums are awesome and the organ really adds to the mix.

I really like this one. The guitar dances around like the whole situation in the lyrics, always there, always emoting, never quite predictable. #tit4tat if you're doing that.

Man, that's some cookin' guitar -- great solo!! The title of this song is what brought me here -- I think it's so relatable! I danced like a teenager through this one! A boppin' beat to accompany a tortured mind -- this is right up my alley! Good job!! Love it!

@nadine

Great sounddesign. The guitar tone and organ is just on point and give enough room for the vocals. But most of all I enjoyed the bassline and the guitar solo. Splendid work! #tit4tat

Great song! The guitar work really stands out, and the production is amazing. Really fun to listen to.

Love me some rocky-blues! great geetar intro. Nice quiet part at 1.38 it creates a great build for the chorus. Solid vocals. #tit4tat.

Great production. I love the lead guitar tone and the organ. I'm missing a memorable chorus hook, though. Still, very enjoyable to listen too. #listeningskirmish

Dayum, you do more than country...a LOT more! This is a mighty fine rawker! I love the overall vibe and those damn fine guitar licks! Your vocals are even better here than the last song of yours I listened to! And your mad production skills are off-the-shart great!

Solid, solid track. Since I'm strictly a chord guy, I truly appreciate the stuff I can't do - the excellent lead guitar work. It adds greatly to the song.

Seriously impressed with your studio production work. Are you totally in the DAW or are you using some outboard gear too?

First, the mix is amazing. Wow! Super clear, loud, and defined. Vocal harmonies are cool. Organ is cool. That driving bass line creates so much groove. If I could make a suggestion it would be to back off the vocal reverb a bit, I feel like the vocal could sit out front a little more and be a bit more dry. Well done!

Played this in the car during the first day of decent weather I have experienced for what feels like forever, and this song suited it perfectly.

On a side note, my fiancée, particularly enjoyed the guitar work.

Gary, you should get at least double credit for all the fine work you put into your demos. Great production of a well-written rocker! Well performed, too!

Damn, Gary, you just keep creating such awesome music!! I love this melody so much! And your lyrics are so meaningful and relatable! And those guitar breaks make my eyes water with joy! Your production skills are off the chart! So much to love about this song! I'm gonna listen again and just enjoy it!

What an incredible sound! I really hope you take this beyond FAWM because it’s already fantastic. The emotions are so raw and relatable, and that line, 'Find shelter somewhere else next time,' hits perfectly. Such a brilliant performance that truly feels like a real face-to-face conversation. A win-win all around!

Interesting structure. has an almost psychedelic feel here. top song! killer guitar.

Love this one! I used to play in a classic rock band and this is giving me nostalgia for those long organ holds! Great production!!

I really like the music behind the lyrics...very catchy! A good message too! Thanks for sharing
