a song sprung from the #nonetchallenge in forum https://write.fawm.org/forums/3195 ... hey said @beto we should do a 9-way collab... so here it is... first lyrics then random order again for music... thanks everyone and sorry to everyone in the stalled second chain.
Lyrics
(not to scale)
It was November, when the sky changed Thirteen days past All Hallow's Eve Leaves crunching under boot heels Awake, the spirits went forth Fingers scratch at the door Beneath the moon Faces paled Howls heard Screams

wow I like the shakers panning from right left, right left. it has a nice, experimental vibe with the lyrics/convo in the background. i keep hearing such interesting sounds. great collab, guys
An mind-bending chunk of pure art.
And yes I'm sure that's all I want to say.
Aw. Awesome! I want someone to write the film(s) that go with all the way talented soundtrack songs.
Extraordinary creativity. It seems like a totally bonkers concept but you have somehow not only made it work but made something I want to listen to over and over again. Well done all!
well that's a collab. very eerie feel from the off! yup I'm not sure on how it all came together but who cares it works! very cool
Incredible collab. I was pulled into hypnosis listening to this. Well done this FAWM to all involved!!
I don't even understand what the challenge was but I'm loving this, and the how the crunchy guitar and violin come in and out. Ah, the violin has the last say too, bravo. Great delivery of the lyrics, who needs singing when your speaking voice sounds so good?
Nine collaborators? I don't even like to take a drive with more than two others.
Eerie and trippy, what a journey! The panned delay guitars ground the whole thing well, and the violin over heavy guitars is quite the combo. Very ominous indeed!
WHOAH!!!9 people ?! That’s impressive. Love how massive (and chunky) this gets.
Fabulous spooky creepy wonderful collaboration! I love all of the vocals and the wonderful instrumental layers and sound effects… how they weave together so perfectly!
Suspense factor is at 11. I can clearly make out everyone's contribtions, so mixing is right on. Quite dense in effects and instruments. This must have been a blast to do. Making me look forward to next year!
that inverted twilight zone theme i perfect for this piece of lunacy. it is like philip glass having a jam session with the john zorn crowd. i love how wobbie keeps weaving in and out of hearing range as she repeats those mystifying lyrics. fantastic game of nine ball on a curved pool table expanding in the milkiest of ways.
This sounded absolutely nothing like I was expecting; what an extraordinary collab this is. It's got everything I like in it, and they've all been welded together perfectly. Folks, this outclasses many of the prog concept albums I bought as a teenager. Absolutely amazing.
God, what a vibe! This gave me chills! Hypnotic! Fantastic work!
This is really great. What a collab guys! Amazing stuff
This belongs on a prog album. Actually this is way better than some prog I've heard. Well done! I like how the vocals are buried at times, but then come out more.
This is effing amazing. You guys are awesome.
Wow, so much to enjoy here...I really love the whole opening/repeating synth (?) parts that keep overlapping and interacting. Plus gigantic guitars, of course, and the whole spoken-word thing is totally fun as well. And great use of the nonet! I hadn't read the tags, just got suspicious when I started looking at the lyrics. Amazing collab!
Tremendous in all aspects. This deserved to have Wobbie on the vocals, and what a mix. Amazing!
Nice n grungey.... !
This is almost a short film! What a soundscape, and plenty of narrative just from these minimal words.
Ended up very cool, I’m so glad this managed to wrap up, been waiting in anticipation how this would end up
This is why I FAWM! For these collaborations that are bigger than the sum of the parts! So good, I'm so proud to be a little part (1/9th, I recon) of this!
Blimey, I know it's not usually the done thing to comment on something you were a part of, but OMG.... What an extraordinary adventure!
Oh this turned out great! Tickled to have been a small part of it! 😀
The gliss on the strings upward, and string parts in general, really captivated me. Otherwise dark and sinister and perfectly chaotic for the dark autumnal lyrics
Not quite certain who did what but this is monumental. The music is just wicked and unpredictable. Such a unique listening experience. Brilliant work all around.
I love how Wobbie’s voice floats over all these instruments - like a witch high above the howling werewolves. Thirteen days past All Hallows Eve Sounds very very ominous.
